Lima’s Haunted Warehouse

Just our luck. It’s only been a few months since we moved into our new warehouse and we are already getting calls from our neighbors and the alarm company about strange things happening after dark. As if Scream Week weren’t spooky enough, now we have a potentially haunted warehouse to deal with.

Last night, Steve, Matt and I decided to investigate the disturbances. For the record, I was opposed from the beginning. Ghosts, goblins and ghouls don’t like to be annoyed! Matt brought his video camera to record the evidence and we have posted it below. Just a warning, it’s a little scary!

Meet the $500 Shopping Spree Winner

Ever since the early days at Lima Beads, we’ve had a $500 shopping spree that we award to a very lucky beader every few months. Last time around, we had the pleasure of calling Traci from Dayton, Ohio to tell her that she was the winner of the shopping spree–and boy, was she surprised! We caught up with Traci over e-mail and she told us a little more about herself. We thought it would be fun to share a few facts about our latest winner…

Traci makes Fresh Picks!

Traci has been a part of the Lima Beads community for almost a year, and her mother in law told her about the web site. She makes mostly necklaces, but really wants to learn how to make earrings. (Note to Traci: check out the earrings in the Design Gallery!) With the $500 winnings, she plans to buy a lot of beads–like many of you, she’s planning on making necklaces for Christmas presents this year. But she’s not going to give everything away… she plans on keeping some for herself, too

We’re keeping our digs in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but we still have a lot of beads to move. So we’re having a BIG SALE to help lighten the load! We’re starting the move tonight at 5pm, so we have a modified shipping schedule over the next week. If you place your order today (8/13) before 3pm Eastern, it will still ship out before the weekend. However, all orders placed after 3pm today will be shipped next week by Wednesday 8/19. So if you need your beads right away, make sure to place your order today by 3pm Eastern!

UPDATE: Wow! We’re sorry to announce that all of the First Come, First Served bead deals are SOLD OUT. Stay tuned to the Fresh Daily for more of these fast-moving deals.

You’re probably aware of this, but we’re in the process of moving to a new office on the other side of town. While we’re anxious to get into a brand new space, we’re more than a little frightened by the idea of moving every single strand of beads that we have on our shelves.

We’re also coming across a few hanks of beads that, for some reason, were never put on the site. You see, they’re all beautiful stones, it’s just there aren’t very many of them. In fact, for one of the products below, we were only able to find 5 strands!

Also, there’s a good chance that we’ll never be able to re-order these products, so we just want to get rid of them. The last thing we want to do is add a bunch of beads to the site that we may never get back in stock. The less we have on our shelves, the less we have to move.

Before you add these deals to your shopping bag, you should know that all of these items are FINAL SALE. So take a good look at the photos! If you like what you see, we’re confident that you’ll love the beads.

As we find more and more of these “orphaned” beads, we’re going to post them here on the blog. Here are a few more guidelines to read over before you place your orders:
