The expression on the Fandango Skull pretty much says it all! Nice pick, but I know how frustrating it is when a project won’t cooperate!! Good Luck…:>

Thanks – I can’t get a structured multi-strand to lay right. It’s a piece that was ordered, that needs to be finished by Thursday, so I have to make it work. aaargh!

love that skull – may have to get one :)

Sometimes when I’m doing a more structured piece, I get it a little too tight and it behaves better once I loosen it up. Probably too simplistic a fix for what you’re doing, just a thought… Time to walk away for a bit, maybe…Bubblebath time!!!:>

    Or Cocoa Puff time…whatever works!!

bubble bath sounds great – but i really should get to bed. And I think you’re right about loosening it up. Well I have one more day to play with it.

Edgy! This would make an interesting project.
Good luck with your project – hope a good night’s sleep will give you a new outlook! Would love to see a pic when you finish it!

So much for a good night’s sleep – I did get a few hours.
I do like the way these beads go together. Thanks for the encouragement!

    jeannes gems,

sure can relate to this Pick, way frustrating when that one strand (out of several) just WONT lay right w/ the others :( … yep, agree w/ the other suggestions to keep hanging in there and to give yourself some periodic breaks as you coax that stubborn strand to hang right, wish you well in getting that strand to behave!!! that little Green Girl skull bead sure could be the symbol of our beading frustrations eh? reminds me of the times I have had to snip apart or otherwise disassemble – I made a netted bracelet a few years ago w/ purple seed beads and copper pearls from a book by Diane fitzgerald on netting and aaargghh for awhile, felt like that little skull bead looks!!!

jeannes gems, i never really know where to go to talk with someone so they will see a message, so hopefully you will get this one! i just bead for fun and i get frustrated when my “hobby” isn’t going well, so here’s to hoping it all falls into place for you! A while back you gave me some input on the rosaries I am trying to make and you suggested tiger eye to go with the citrine/turquoise. Just wanted to let you know I tried it and it was BEAUTIFUL so I will try to make it some day, it would be a good rosary for a guy. Thanks again and happy beading!

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:

Rubbertomato – I am so glad the tiger eye worked for you. I usually check my picks from time to time to see if there’s any new activity. So eventually I should see messages. Especially since I don’t do as many picks as some of our friends. lol
This beading thing did start as a hobby, and it really still is. But so many people encouraged me to sell or asked for something special, that it has evolved. At the moment I mostly price my pieces so that the pay for themselves with a small profit. It’s pretty cool to my pieces all over school :) (I teach)

btw – do we know you first name? It feels funny to keep calling you Rubbertomato. Wherever did that come from?

Sorry you were feeling frustrated. I can relate, as had to keep backtracking and recounting a project last night. Seems some projects are not best done while visiting with my bead group-but we sure had a nice time.
btw-I love the rainbow moonstone w/ the mexican fire opal-great idea.

    And the earrings of course!
Shannon – your suggestion to loosen it up a bit made the difference. Of course, I had to restring the 2 strands that reduced into one. Couldn’t have been the other way around.

Thanks Cathy – It’s the most involved piece I’ve attempted. And since it was “commissioned” – I was committed – or should have been! lol

Well – one of my best friends at work ordered it – so didn’t make much of a profit… loved the challenge and vote of confidence. They’re asking for a mother’s day selection so I’ll have to be busy over the weekend.

Kitty – I’m comfortable with thread so I stick with wire – this was beadalon 19 strand .012″

Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:

oops that’s supposed to say – I’m NOT comfortable with thread…

Wow – from frustrated to fabulous! This is just beautiful! Using the reducers closer to the focal is inspired!! I always thought they were too pretty to put toward the back. Kambaba Jasper is a spectacular stone and you’ve made even more so…Your friend should be very pleased…and so should you!!!:>
