Description from Regina v: Autumn is in the air, and everybody;s thoughts seem to be turning to chocolate and warm ideas. In my home, we're still stuck on a vexing puzzle: garlic or chocolate? (Name a food that can't be improved in combination with one or both). I pose this problem to you in beads. Thoughts?

Regina v says:The Shibuishi mermaid is of course chocolate. Even mer-chicks dig chocolate.
Little fishy is clearly garlic, because he and his siblings would make a nice casserole if some garlic were added.
Mmmmm little fishies in garlic B)

Chicky Bear-Tara says:How about garlic and chocolate? They can’t be improved upon with each other or with themselves. Tee Hee.

Regina v says:Hey Chicky bear – two words: mole sauce
(wonderful garlic AND chocolate, and my favorite Mexican sauce)
But keep trying …

KPJEWELS says:Chicky Bear, mole poblano or mole rojo. BTW, love this colour palette.
On Sep 18, 2009 at 2:33 pm #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:Just the smell of either one makes me hungry! I can’t imagine how I would cook without garlic, love chocolate, and will have to try mole sauce!
Love the color combo…perfect for the question!
On Sep 18, 2009 at 3:19 pm #
Regina v says:There are different types of mole sauce. I usually use unsweetened dark chocolate instead of cocoa – for richness. Fresh squeezed orange or tangerine for a little sweetness (you want to bring out the spices without making candy sauce – or sweeeteeea). Garlic, a little cinammon, hot pepper, some tomato paste to thicken. Fresh herbs like parsley and cilantro at the last minute, so they blanche without withering.
Sounds strange, but it is GOOD!
So garlic AND chocolate – how do you mole?

Regina v says:So I just bopped in after a several month hiatus (setting up my Etsy site among other things) and lo and behold – there’s a “winner” to the garlic or chocolate conundrum. Watermelon. Agree – goes with neither. Priorities.
On Feb 09, 2010 at 5:26 pm #
Vampire Chickie Ravin says:Actually, there is a hindu dish, they cook the watermelon, make into a stew/soup…has garlic in it. It’s actually quite good, I was very suprised!

Bonnie R says:Regina, I like your cat. Reminds me of my 14 year old “alpha” Tom Cat. He (Floyd) also is white with black spots just like he dipped his tail in black paint and flicked it all over his back. He stays amazingly pure white even living outside.

She has a few other foods she shouldnt eat as well… sauce, peppers, anything spicy, & uncooked onions.
On Feb 09, 2010 at 7:16 pm #
Vampire Chickie Ravin says:Gotcha….I can’t have too much sugar myself
