Description from Helen G aka tea chick: we recently returned from the Vacation To Hell And Back- we were planning to drive to the East Coast to visit family in VT, Boston, NJ, and VA, but hubby came down with appendicitis en route and had to have emergency surgery in Indiana. Later the same day, when driving my daughters (3 and 6) back from the hospital to the motel, the car threw a rod and died! We're home in Colorado now, hubby's on the mend and we have a new(er) car. The nuggets are an ode to life's little bumps and their hidden beauty- I'm so happy we're all safe and my girls were great- they were just thrilled that the motel had a pool and there was a McD's next door!

Glad your husband was able to get to a hospital and is recovering! How about you – have you recovered or is this more trauma than Calgon can take away?

Helen G aka tea chick says:thanks ladies! One bright note (literally)- while we were waiting for the AAA truck with our dead car, darkness fell, and the girls saw their very first fireflies! They don’t live in Colorado but I loved them when I was a kid in NJ and it was cool to see the wonder on the girls faces when I pointed them out! the kids were so good through everything, and it was a great learning experience for them in a way- I was telling Emma, “you can’t always control what happens in life, you can only control how you handle it, and we’ll get through all this together as a family”. I think she really took that in, and she’s a bit stronger and braver kid as a result.
