“married to a mortal:calm sea”
Description from Kitty Chicky Cat: Eyes of a mermaid married to a mortal.
Her husband would wish to say they were the color of the trees and the grass but really they are the color of the seaweed which ties her heart to her ocean. She is bound to the sea and feels its pull as the high tide feels the inescapable drawing of the full moon. Her heart is ever longing for her sea, her first love, a love more instinctual than even the love of her human husband and her own half human children. To it she would return if only she could find the shimmering scales of her tail, which she so foolishly left on the beach when she decided to stroll along the black sands in the blacker night. Little does she know that it was the mortal man who has since become her husband that stole her beautiful fish’s tail and hid it so that this beautiful vision who had captured his heart with her ethereal voice and oceanic loveliness could never swim away from him. Wherever she is her eyes are always turning toward her ocean for she knows instinctually that There is where she truly belongs. Her fate is bound to the great expanse of water. Salt water flows through her veins and her fate is one with the sea. Her people are immortal, they will live till the end of time if they do not die in battle, so long as the sea endures so will her people. Her mood is affected by the ocean's. When it is calm she is peaceful however when a storm arises she has all the fury of the crashing waves and when the ocean becomes infected by something that should not be there she becomes very sick. She is ever pining for The Saltwater and each day without it she dies a little more. This is the eye of a prisoner of love, trapped far from her home, unable to return. She has all the comforts and affections which her lover can provide, for when he married her he pledged all his life to her, but is that enough to make up for all that she has lost, all that was stolen from her? When the Siren becomes the victim of the sailor
