    I LIKE your experiments!
That coffee bean jasper is so cool isn’t it? Goes great with the ‘berry colors’ and African jade.
Now….tell me how to use the brass petal cut out.

I would use it as a pendant (layered or not). I got the idea for the earrings from a design in the March issue of BeadStyle. They used the same technique for pendants and earrings. Very simple – string on a head pin – bend at right angle – top with a wrapped loop – I added the beads to give it a little more stablity (sp?).

thank you chickies… I like experimenting w/ different kinds of green stones to see what else will go w/ the coffee bean jasper, figured I would use dark greens for this one and then light greens for another Pick I did last night also.
Sweet chick, I’m really glad you also asked about how to use that wonderful huge vintaj brass flower as a pendant – and CAS, thanks for your explanation and pic, what kinds of flowers are those in the pic??? love the colors you’ve chosen to use, so bright and gorgeous! :)

Hi Smart Chick! The center is a Czech druk, as are the beads in the back, set in a lucite flower bead cap, a vintage metal flower bead cap, a paper flower then 2 silk flowers. I did two other pairs of earrings, one in pinks and the other in yellows/greens using lucite flower bead caps, vintage metal flower bead caps and silk flowers (I swiped the silk flowers from my scrapbooking stash) with Czech druks as the centers and in back. The May issue of BeadStyle shows a necklace/earring set made using pearls and lucite flowers that’s really pretty.

thanks CAS, I might have to look at silk flowers more closely as possible beading components like you have. lucite beads aure are fun too, I love the flower beads in lucite too, your earrings came out really beautifully!!!! :)

CAS, thanks for these other pics of your silk flower and lucite earrings w/ pearls they came out wonderfully!!!!! :)

  14. CAS
    CAS says:

The nice thing about using the silk flowers is that it keeps the earrings very, very light since the lucite & metal can be a little heavy, it also gives a little billowy movement to the earrings.
