Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:I remember those lampwork beads, Jeanne! They are gorgeous!!! These colors will work beautifully with them! Do you have any design ideas in mind?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:13 am #
Chicky Bear-Tara says:Beautiful pick…instant favorite. Can’t wait to see the jewelry!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:13 am #
Sali Jo GemsChica Chick says:This is fabulous! I’ve got to try some of these pieces! Love the brass with these colors too!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:14 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Yes – I’ve posted this picture before.
The green moonstone seems to be the perfect color to enchance the focals. I think i’ll just use some brass bead caps and the rice filigree to keep it simple. The African opal is absolutely stunning, but alone appears to wash out the lampwork.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:16 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:wow – you guys are so much faster than me.
such a quandry – I have schoolwork (yucch) to do before tomorrow
or I could work on this necklace. hmmmmmm…
what’s a girl to do?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:17 am #
Sali Jo GemsChica Chick says:WHERE DID YOU GET THOSE BEAUTIFUL LAMPWORK BEADS!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:20 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Yep, those are the ones I remember! Sooooo beautiful and such soft colors! The beads you’ve chosen to use with them are just perfect, Jeanne! Great pick, BTW!
The eternal dilemma — work vs. beads. Sigh.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:21 am #
Mary S AKA Sweet Chick says:Favorite, favorite, favorite! I love this combination!!
I’m gald you posted a picture of the lampwork because I missed it the first time! They’re gorgeous and I think your design idea sounds gorgeous too!!
Guess I’m going to have to look into lampwork beads. Not something I’ve worked with before. Look out pocket book!!! LOL!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:30 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:This will be a first for me too.
another dilema… I have the 10mm af. opal in my cart for the ridiculous price of 7.38 (full price is 16.80). I just spent a bit in NYC and here during the sale. My expected home parties have been postponed a few weeks, so I don’t exactly have a fluid bead income. I have to decide before 11:30. aarrgh!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:56 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Sandra, the site is beadgoodies.etsy.com. The artist is Candice Mathewson and she is located in PA. I’ve purchased lampwork beads from her and they are beautiful!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 9:58 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Jeanne, if you’re only talking about $7.38, buy them. It is a great discount. If you’ve got a ton of other items in your bag, well……could you buy just enough to get the free shipping once you hit $40?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:00 am #
Mary S AKA Sweet Chick says:Whoa. Tough decision Jeanne. Been there done that. I feel for you!
I won’t encourage you though. Don’t want to be the cause of empty pocket book syndrome.
This place is SO darn tempting Arrrgh!!!!!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:06 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Yiou know I have more than $40 in my bag. I’ll have to pare it down. I’m pretty sure I’m going for it.- they’re just so stunning.
btw – I’m working on the necklace
and will post photos soon for suggestions
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:10 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:I’m sorry to hear your home parties have been delayed for now, Jeanne. Good luck with the paring — I do that all the time! LOL
Looking forward to the pix of the necklace!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:22 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:I’ve been delayed ‘cuz Sam’s on line.
soon,,,,,
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:26 am #
Valentine Chick says:Wow this will be gorgeous!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:37 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Ok – so I could go with 3 or 4 lampworks…
the benefit to using 3 is I have enough to do another whole necklace!
or I could use all 6 and that pretty much would be all you’ll in front
any thoughts?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:38 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:oops – wrong pictures
duh!!!!!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:39 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:there you go
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:40 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Love the Pick! Love the lampwork beads! I know this will be a wonderful project and I look forward to you showing it to us.
You could do the work now, and play with beads this weekend? Then you can say “Don’t bother me, because I worked hard all week and this is ME time!” LOL
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:42 am #
Leigh D says:My eyes immediately went to the one with the 4 lampworks – It would be gorgeous no matter which way you decided – I love the brass with this as well….I hate dilemnas like this….
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:43 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:you must have been typing while I was posting, Harriet.
The beads are so beautiful on there own, that it really is a quick simple design.
can you see my teacher manual in the background? The beauty of that is I can soon take the schoolbooks out to the pool. LOL
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:44 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Don’t use all 6 in one neckace, Jeanne. First of all, it would be “too much” — you want those gorgeous beads to shine without having to compete with each other. Hope that made sense. Second, as you said, you’ll have enough to make 2 necklaces or a necklace and bracelet set. That is, if you decide to start wearing bracelets.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:46 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Or I could use four and make matching earrings (if Leigh could handle that) LOL
Actually – the earrings might be too much, but I would have 2 lovely pendants.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:47 am #
Leigh D says:If you went with the four lampwork beads in the necklace you could use the other two for earrings – not that you haven’t already thought of that…
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:47 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:The brass is perfect with the lampwork bead colors! So are the accent beads you’ve chosen, Jeanne! I was so caught up in the numbers dilemma that I forgot to tell you that! LOL
It’s almost 11 — have you placed your order?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 10:50 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:omg Leigh – we are definitely on the same wavelength today!
I have another half hour for the order Lynn – It expires at 11:45. My cart’s at $72 so I have some work to do. LOL
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:06 am #
Pam says:Love your pick. Love the lampworks beads and the necklace is gorgeous. (I like the one with three lampwork beads in it).
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:12 am #
Valentine Chick says:Oh all of your pieces are beautiful!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:17 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:I’m with Pam on this one. The beads are gorgeous! and either design works. But they taught us in art classes, and jewelry design, that usually odd numbers work best for the human eye, something about our visual preferences.
That would leave 3 to do other projects.
I really like the ones you posted accidently, too. LOL Those are very pretty! What stones did you use in that design?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:18 am #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:The small square spacers look like pyrite?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:28 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:My fave is the design with 3, Jeanne.
I thought I had said that earlier, but went back to look and realized I never did! LOL
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:29 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:I love the “accidental” photos, also! The smaller spacers do look like pyrite to me. What’s the rest?
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:32 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Thank you Harriet!
I’m going to have to stare at those photos and make a decision eventually. I’m keeping the earrings simple – probably a bead with a cap dangling for a rice filigree or just the bead with a cap.
The other design is posted in the gallery. It’s the “Miss Laurie” for our school secretary.
And yes the squares are pyrite.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:40 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:I thought it looked familiar!
The earring design sounds very pretty!
Three. Three. Three.

Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Hehe!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:52 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Lynn – you are a bad influence. I got my order down to 41.24 and submitted it!
I’ll mull over these designs (could go with 5 – that’s an odd #) just kidding.
and I must get back to my school work so I have something to share with my colleagues tomorrow.
Thanks all!!!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:03 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Moi?!?! If I remember correctly, I only told you to spend the original $7.38…. LOL
Be sure to let us know (3) what you end up (3) deciding on (3) for your design (3), Jeanne!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:06 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:you also suggested that I could manage to have at least $40 in my cart so I could get free shipping. It’s right there in black and white. and really does it make sense to spend $5 to ship one string of beads???
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:08 pm #
3KJEWELS-3KCHICK says:Everything is gorgeous, Jeanne. Glad you got your order in. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:09 pm #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Well, I was just trying to save you the S & H costs…..and since you were probably going to buy the other $33.86 worth of beads anyway…..
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:19 pm #
Mayan Chick - Lilly says:Beautiful pick. Those lampwork beads are lovely and so is the necklace.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:36 pm #
Fashion Chick aka SC says:Your pick is nice and so are your pictures of the necklace. I can’t wait for you to post the final design in the gallery. Have you considered a name yet? When I saw your pictures, the first name that came to mind was “In The Limelight”.
On Aug 26, 2009 at 12:38 pm #
Cuban Queen Crazy Chick says:WOW, Jeanne, I have those EXACT beads bookmarked on my computer! I also found them on Etsy and completely fell in love with them. Then I scrolled back up through the comments on this pick and saw the necklace. Absolutely beautiful, Jeanne. It’s a FAV
On Aug 26, 2009 at 1:17 pm #
Wemai Coffee Chick says:I love your pick, Jeanne! And WOW, what a discussing you’ve had without me! BTW I like the one with 4 beads most! He, he!! I checked the shop on etsy, and YES, she has some gorgeous beads there!! Maybe some of them will end up in Norway!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 8:22 pm #
Page B says:Ooh, I love cream and mint!!
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:49 pm #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Page!! I am trying not to have a late night snack and here you are talking about mint creams!
Oh, cream and mint…is that anything like chocolate mint ice cream? Got to get my mind out of the refrigerator. LOL
On Aug 26, 2009 at 11:56 pm #
Happy Chick aka Harriet says:Night ladies. It is almost 11:oo here, and it has been a busy day.
On Aug 27, 2009 at 3:48 am #
Cotopaxi Chickie Sue says:OMG! Am I too late to post what a fabulous set this is?? And the pick – instant fav! If I can put my 2 cents in (has anyone else ever noticed that keyboards don’t have the cents sign anymore??), I’d go with the 3 lampworks. but whatever you decide, it’s going to be simply stunning!
On Aug 27, 2009 at 4:08 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Hey, Sue! I never noticed before that the “cents” sign was a thing of the past! LOL You are very observent…..
On Aug 27, 2009 at 4:09 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:And a more observant speller might have noticed how to spell “observant” correctly. ROTFLOL
On Aug 27, 2009 at 6:24 am #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:You are not too late Sue! Thanks for your input. I had to put the piece aside so I could think about it. Right now there are 4 lampworks because that’s the last version I did. but the more I look at it that way, it does seem slightly off balance.
Fashion Chick – no name yet – that’s my weakness. I’ll certainly consider “in the limelight” and I also like Page’s mint and cream description. Hmmmm – maybe “creme de menthe”
Ivy – It appears that these are not one of a kind beads. just don’t wear them when we’re together. LOL
Wenche – these beads are definitely worth it! go for it!
and I was so excited to find the perfect match in the moonstone and brass here at LB!
have a great day everyone!
I’m off to school for a meeting.
On Aug 27, 2009 at 8:36 am #
Deb D Grammy Chick says:This is an absolutely beautiful pick and an instant fave! I love the design you’re working with…the brass is the perfect touch for those gorgeous lampwork beads! I vote for three of the lampworks in your design. BTW, I love the “OOPS” necklace, too!
On Aug 28, 2009 at 8:05 am #
Leigh D says:Oh yeah Jeanne – There is another stone out there that is very similar to African Opal in color – Riverstone – and it is much more affordable – I ran across it when I was re-organizing my beads this week,
On Aug 28, 2009 at 8:06 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Riverstone? Where do you find it? Please don’t say in a river….. LOL
On Aug 28, 2009 at 8:09 am #
Leigh D says:I bought mine at FMG’s – Sorry LB – I have seen it by a zillion different names but this is what it was called when I bought it
On Aug 28, 2009 at 8:11 am #
Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Thanks, Leigh! I just Googled it and it’s very pretty!
On Aug 28, 2009 at 8:15 am #
Luv2bead - Little Chick says:Beautiful pick & beads! I think you should only use 3 for the necklace!
On Aug 28, 2009 at 3:54 pm #
Jeannes Gems - Gem Chick says:Ivy – Candace posted more of “my” lampwork beads!
Leigh, I will have to check those out. in the meantime, the 10mm’s were in today’s mail and they are gorgeous.
Thank you Nicole. I do have to finish it now. But something for me for my friend’s wedding tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed about the weather. They’re having it at a park.
