I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, but raised in West Branch, Michigan. I was a small town girl until I decided to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I love this city and the way it combines the efficiency of a big city with the homey feeling of a small town. I entered college with the intentions of getting a business degree but graduated with a degree in philosophy. While I still love playing with numbers, I've discovered I enjoy looking at arguments through another's eyes and seeing how people think even more.
Here at Lima Beads, I am the 'caretaker' of our products and the warehouse staff. Once a product enters the warehouse, I give it a cozy home until the day it is chosen to enter your order. My staff is a mix of college students and recent grads from all areas of Ann Arbor; there's a future chef, teacher, pharmacist, and more. They are definitely an interesting mix of people, but one thing they all have in common is a drive to satisfy the customer. Competitions of accuracy and efficiency are a pretty regular thing in the warehouse.
I enjoy working at Lima Beads because it challenges me in different ways everyday. I might be handling a new batch of crystal one minute, but an hour later I could be trying to figure out why one of my co-workers can't seem to pull an order without dancing. When I'm not playing with the new products and decide to step outside the warehouse, I enjoy playing rugby (that's what the Lima guy is doing in my photo), eating food (have you ever noticed all the food related czech glass names?), and hanging with friends.
