When I first had a chance to quickly make one of these bracelets, I was in love. Quick, easy and cool. Of course I couldn't let it end there :-) I wanted to layer this leather and rivet it together while embellishing at the same time. The use of the monochromatic metallics and gunmetal components gives this a sleek, edgy yet handmade feel. I chose to trim the edges of my top leather to have rounded corners to give it that extra finished touch.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Slide the leather strap through the E Hook, pull through an inch. Fold the leather over and pinch the fold down. Using the rotary punch and keeping the leather folded over, punch a hole 10-12mm from the fold.

Step 2

Place the rivet ends through the holes while keeping the leather folded over. String a large hole heishi under the rivet head.

Step 3

Place the bracelet, underside down, on the dot anvil. Place the rivet setter (dome side down) over the rivet head and get ready to hammer!

Step 4

Use the rotary punch to punch 2 more holes 8mm apart.

Step 5

Place the rivet ends through the holes just punched and repeat step 3.

Step 6

Move to the opposite end of the leather strap. Fold over the end of the leather. My leather strap from fold to fold ended up at 7". Punch a hole through the folded over leather using the rotary punch, 10-12mm from the fold.
**TIP** To size the bracelet before punching the holes, wrap the leather strap around your wrist and slide the end through the hook portion of the E Hook. Fold it over when it fits.

Step 9

Select a contrasting color leather strap. Divide the strap into 3rds and cut 1/3 off to be used.

Step 10

Mark on the leather where to punch a hole at in order to connect the 2 different leather straps.

Step 11

Using the rotary punch, punch a hole through both leather straps at each end where marked.

See Tip: Setting Rivets with Anvil & Setter Tools

Step 12

Place the rivet ends through the holes just punched and repeat step 3.

Step 13

Layout 8 large hole heishi on the short leather strap.

Step 14

Mark where the holes need to be punched.

Step 15

Punch the holes through both leather straps where you just marked.

Step 16

Place the large hole heishi bead over 1 of the hole you just punched. Place the rivet ends through the holes and heishi. Repeat step 3.
Repeat this step until all of your holes are filled.

Step 17

Trim the ends of your shorter top leather strap to give a more finished look.
