About this design:
I sometimes have trouble using my teardrop beads because a lot of times I don't like the way they hang in necklaces. So, thought I would use some other teardrops I had and made another barefoot sandal.
I have not been feeling well the last few days but better today so I PROMISE to get started on that step by step for the barefoot sandal.
Components:
pink seed beads, pink bi-cone crystals, clear (AB) teardrops, silver chain for extender and a lobster claw clasp.Read the comments (or add your own)

Truckin Grandma Karen says:WOW, this if fit for the barefoot princess. I love this. hope u get better soon. Have u worn them in water or when u walk on them do the seed beads under the toe survive. BEAUTIFUL

MoonBell says:Beautiful… I was wondering, do you use thread, or beading wire?

nutkitten says:HI,
Karen, the reason for using small seed beads, especially for the piece that goes around the toe is that they are so small that with normal walking, they really don’t come into contact with the ground too much. As far as in water, as long as your beads are colorfast, no problem. Also, and this will answer MoonBell too, I use tigertail beading wire. As you know, that stuff is very durable and certainly doesn’t stretch when wet.
A lot of people use stretch cord because you can get a better fit but the stretch cord won’t hold up as long getting wet, drying, wet, drying, and being in the heat can become brittle or lose it’s elasticity.
Hope this helps.

nutkitten says:I thought I might add that if you are worried about water or moisture seeping into the tigertail (between the coating and the wire) and causing corrosion, simply dab some clear nail polish on the tips of the wire to seal. And, regarding stretchy cord, I cannot see salt water (being at the beach) doing anything but damage to stretchy cord.
