About this design:
I found these lovely, delicate, well carved Brain Jasper leaves at my LBS, and thought they were a knockout. But... does anyone know a more palatable name for this stone than 'Brain Jasper'? Ok, it IS the color of 'grey-matter streaked with blood), but I don't want to evoke the gorey associations with this piece. It's too elegant for zombies!
Also shown: Coordinating earrings, and the bracelet that was inspired while I was playing around with the 'chain' components.
Components:
Brain jasper pendant, copper beads, grey crystals, peachy-copper tri-beads, copper luster 11/0s, handmade copper hook&eye claspRead the comments (or add your own)

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Pinky and the Brain? LOL X infinity…..
OK, OK — What a beautiful pendant and gorgeous set you’ve created, Katherine! As always, I love your work!
Stroke of Genius — sort of ties in with the “brain” theme…..Flash of Brilliance…..Happy Thoughts……now I’m all out of ideas (for now).

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Well I love it! I’m always inspired by your creativity and this is no exception! It’s beautiful!
I have seen this stone listed “else where” as Redline Marble. Although I find that name to be pretty ho-hum. Must we choose between gross and uninspiring?!
Lynn, you have been in rare form the last few days!
It’s great to “hear” the laughter in your responses!
I love your sense of humor! Stroke of Genius is an excellent title for this!

Eeka Mouse says:Thanks for the compliments, ladies. Lynn, I appreciate that you’d call it ‘stroke of genius’ (which actually ties in doubly w/brain), but I think it would be a little self-inflating for ME to call it that… and I, too always get a kick out of your sense of humor (btw, I’m another Mary, not a Katherine).
For now, I’m just being generic and calling it Jasper… keep those suggestions coming!
PS: Brain Cupcakes, anyone?

Little Round Chick says:Brain jasper is kinda yucky sounding.
I’ve seen stones with a similar pattern and the one with the closest resemblance is redline marble aka redline jasper..? Either sound more pleasant than brain jasper….ugh!

Lynn Eileen Chicky LE says:Oops, sorry about the name confusion, Mary! Yikes — what was I thinking?!?!? Luckily, the rest of my comment and compliment was correct!!!
I have been trying to be on here more of late and will continue to bring along my ever-quirky sense of humor…..LOL…..I had hand surgery in June and am just now getting back into the swing of jewelry making and commenting. Missed you all — I did read/look at everything, but sometimes my hand was too tired for much typing.

It really is a pretty set, Mary, no matter what you call it!

Lyric Chick aka Bev says:You chicks are a bunch of nuts!!! That’s why I love you all (that’s ya’ll in Texan) and LB so much! Mary, how about “Deep in Thought”. Or, “What’s on Your Mind?” Or, “I Was Just Thinking.” or “Penny for Your Thoughts”. Although, I agree that “Stroke of Genius” is by far the best!!!

K H says:Mary, do you remember back in the day, when fried brains sandwiches were popular in South St Louis? Personally I would call it “Pink Crayon Doodles” Katherine
