Rustic Peace Cuff

About this design:

I was really looking forward to using the alcohol inks on a cuff. Here's what I ended up with.

What you’ll need: (buy products below)

Additional Images:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1:
Begin by painting your cuff with the Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber. Once this is dry, apply the alcohol inks using the applicator.
Step 2:
When your initial coloring with inks has dried, take your alcohol ink pen a scrawl text or symbols onto your cuff.
Step 3:
The EuroPower Punch Pliers work best for punching holes through this thick gauge cuff consistently. I used the smallest size punch. Lightly mark where you would like to punch the holes. Once the holes are punched all the way around the cuff, begin stitching the leather lacing through the holes wrapping around the edge of the cuff.

    Wow. Will you please make a video showing how you used all the paints and fixatives, etc to get the dappled look? There is just no way I’d be able to do this otherwise.

    And, if you do, maybe you could do it in a different color scheme, perhaps tidepool?

    Thanks for considering this.

    This is a great look with many possibilities! Once it is finished is the color fixed? Will it not come off on to skin, clothes, etc or does it have to be sealed with something?

    Thanks for all your nice comments.

    @M Bowers
    Alcohol Inks are permanent, however, when used on metal where skin and skin oils will be in contact with the color it is recommended to use a sealer. I always use a sealer and have been incredibly happy with the Claudine Hellmuth multi-medium sealers we carry – http://www.limabeads.com/Sealers-C5667
