About this design:
I was inspired by the purple crocuses blooming already. I wanted to make a crocus and was inspired by the stone/shell flower pendants from other designs (Rocky D and others) to see if I could make my version of a crocus flower. I added my attempt at wire work to attach the tagua groovy slice to symbolize the leaves of the flowers and to simulate the shape of the bell-shaped-like head of the flower.
I received this ribbon on a gift once and kept it because I thought I could reuse it, thanks to Lynda at Fresh Baked Designs I was able to figure out that it was sari silk ribbon. I was inspired by her work with bracelets to see if it would work for a necklace.
I also was inspired by Ali's tutorial to make the glass and emerald and stone charms. Thanks everyone for the inspirations. I tried to incorporate the techniques into making my own piece to represent the beauty of the crocus flowers.
I hope everyone appreciates and understands the inspirations behind this piece.

olive penguin says:Thanks! I liked how the colors of the stick beads mimic the purple crocus flowers I’ve seen lately. The other unexpected design element that seems to work surprising well are the rough emeralds as leaves for the flower buttons.
