Mock Up for Tomorrow's Show

About this design:

Tomorrow I have a one day, one table art mart show. Normally I have three times this much table space. I've photographed the layout and printed a photo so I'll have an idea where everything goes.

I set this display up in front of my china cabinet so I had to add a back drop. If it was photographed without covering the china cabinet things would be tooooo cluttered. Most of the pieces I've included are the copper ones. Since space is restricted I decided to edit.

Comments and suggestions will be welcomed.

A bunch of stuff.

I forgot to call your attention to my latest display gadget. It is made from a bicycle chain wheel with the chain coiled up to make the base. I’m not sure if I will continue to use it but it is such a conversation piece I probably will. :D

Wow nice display, and I love the wheel too….

This looks realy nice, and the chain wheel is cool! Do you have more pieces to add to the prop on the top right?

I noticed that fab wheel right away, Nancy! Definitely a conversation starter and a keeper! 8)

I love your display — it draws a person in without being too busy. As always, I adore your copper pieces! :D Wishing you the very best of Chicky Luck tomorrow! Please be sure to post an update for us!

Nicely done and that fab wheel caught my eye right away also.

Lookin’ good…the wheel caught my eye right away and I wondered what it was! I think it’s a keeper!! Good luck at the show! :-D

I saw the wheel and tree to the right, right away to…they’re really cool and will probably attract people to the display. I love the display overall. Beautiful pieces too. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. It had reached the point with this display where I’d looked at it so much I could no longer tell what I had. I realized after I posted the picture I’d forgotten to put the bracelets on the double display bars on the upper right. Oh well. At least I have them packed so I’ll be able to put them in the display tomorrow.

Glad you all like my wheel. The place I bought it from had them in three sizes but this was the only tall one left. Some of them had words and some were just plain wheels. I got the only Phoenix wheel there.

There is no charge for the booth space but they are asking for a donation of goods for the raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase art supplies to be used at the Ronald McDonald house here in San Diego. My donation is the the bib necklace with coordinating ear rings on the left side of the bottom row. Hopefully this will be a good raffle item for them.

Thanks again everyone for the comments. :D

That raffle is a great idea for a show and for such a good cause! I think your necklace and earrings will be a great raffle item.

    Good luck w/ sales!

Display looks good, should draw them in…

Love the wheel spoke! you might try it with solid pendants, rather than the wire ones.

For donations, I try to find out what the bidding set up is… if it is a silent auction w/ a bid sheet, they may get a nice necklace or set. If it’s a ‘bucket auction’ with 50 cent tickets, all they get is a pair of earrings. It irks me too much to have someone get a nice piece for 50 cents!

I love your display. Good luck on your sales! I also LOVE your metal work. I saw a comment on one of your pieces of jewelry about putting copper in the oven for different color patina’s. Have you tried that and for how long do you bake the copper?

I love seeing other displays, especially when there are cool, creative stands! Hope you have (had?) a great show!

A classy set-up, Nancy! That shade of green sets off the copper and black nicely. Cool metal display too.
Best of luck at the show and please let us know how it goes! :-)

‘Tis the day after the art mart show and I have a most righteous sunburn. The information we were give about the place we were to set up was not very informative and we were out in the sun the whole time. Luckily I had a long sleeve shirt on so the sunburn is mostly on my face which doesn’t need any extra color or lines. I think I’ll add a broad brim hat to my standard equipment and ASK questions if and when I do another show where every thing for the set up is furnished.

The show was a modest success financially. Had lots of lookers and lots of compliments. Gave out a bunch of business cards so we shall see if anything results from that.

Thanks again for all of the compliments and comments everyone. About your copper question opalgem101, I’ve never tried the oven treatment for copper. I generally use a torch for the patina but the oven ides sounds like it would be a fun experiment. If I try it I’ll let you know how it works.

Sorry about the sunburn…. I have learned to be prepared for anything, you
just never know… even when they tell you…. LOL !!!
Love all your new pieces, and glad it was a success for you !!!!!

You are so right, Violet. Be prepared for ANYTHING! I should have known better but knowing and doing don’t always go together. My thanks to Banana Boat for their great soothing After Sun Aloe Gel. I highly recommend it! :D

Great set up LRC … it was beautiful. I too LOVE the wheel — drew me in right away. Shame about being out in the sun all day! Hopefully handing out the cards yields future buyers for you as well! SLS

Glad to hear the good news.

I keep a stick of sunscreen in my cash box just in case (and share with others).
