Nancy Mc says:Interesting, and sharp as a tack! I like the way you attached your stick beads to the chain. I’m trying to figure it out,in my head. Beautiful piece that anyone would be happy to wear.

Purple Chick aka Violet says:I really like the way you added the Sodalite beads, very creative !!
Would really dress up a pair of jeans !!

olive penguin says:Thanks everyone! I was inspired by the colors in the glass beads on the black “chain.” I thought the blue on the coin beads and sodalite went well together.
Nancy, the sodalite sticks were wrapped with and eye pin to make a charm and then attached to the chain. The hole is outward to show more of the stone.

Little Round Chick says:Chains are great and I really like the way you’ve used them in this design.

olive penguin says:Thanks! I had forgotten I had this chain, it was really a great price (40″=$1), which makes it perfect to play with and see what designs come up.

gembeans says:Great and different way to wrap the sticks to hang. I have a bunch of misc. ones so I may try this. Thanks for the idea! Yours is a very cool and creative muli-strand…great for summer!

Nancy Mc says:Thanks,Olive! I have to try that. The beads hang nicely from the chain. I was never a fan of Sodalite, until I saw some of the creations here.
I think it’s because the only ones I ever bought were rondelles, and very plain blue.
Wish us all luck with this LOL!

olive penguin says:Thanks for the feedback, and your welcome for the info. I hope all your bead charms turn out wonderfully!
Just one more tip…once when I was wrapping a fluorite stick I must have pulled/pushed too hard because it shattered, pieces of fluorite flew everywhere. That probably was a fluke and the hole was probably on the cleavage plane (where a mineral breaks), but I thought I’d give the heads up. I was just glad that I wear glasses…
