About this design:
I've had the copper frame for this bracelet for ages. I had started to work on it with mostly stone beads but didn't like the way it was looking. So I abandoned it, more or less.
Last week I received some rhyolite beads that were a perfect color for copper so I clipped the wires and removed the blah beads from the frame. The colors of the rhyolite with a few Czech beads and crystal made a much more interesting cuff.
Components:
rhyolite, copper, Czech glass, jasper, crystal, seed beadsRead the comments (or add your own)

olive penguin says:This is a stunningly beautiful cuff! I’m in awe of your copper wire work in your bracelets, it’s always really interesting and unique. Those rhyolite beads are beautiful too! Great job! I love this.

Little Round Chick says:Thanks Elaine and Olive. This is one of those pieces where the beads and copper were made for each other.
Elaine, I need to check your Blue Fire Agate cuff. I expect you are being too hard on yourself.

Little Round Chick says:Thanks for the compliments Everyone. I’m quite please with the over all design.
KatsAllThat, I made the frame. It’s 12 gauge copper electrical wire. This is the first style frame I learned to make. Since then I’ve been playing around with all kinds of variations for the frame structure, waves, swirls, paisleys, grids….. There is no end to all of the design possibilities.

Little Round Chick says:Thanks for all of the positive comments Everyone.
I can’t take credit for the original design of this cuff. Instructions for making it came from the book “Beautiful Wire Jewelry for Beaders” by Irina Miech. I learned the basics in a class offered by my LBS. It is a fantastic book full of ideas and techniques. Some day I may have to try some of the other projects in it.

Little Round Chick says:Hey all of you interested folk, Amazon has the book available for $14.93 which is a better price than I paid. If you do check it out be very careful….they have bunched of books on jewelry and it is easy to get lured into buying them.

Little Round Chick says:Thanks again Everyone.
Steph, you should see the container I put my scraps and screw-ups in. It is about 3/4 full and this is my second one. Of course they aren’t terribly big containers but then the scrapsare pretty small. If you want to try making this style bracelet start with a fairly small gauge like a 16ga then work your way up to the tuff stuff.

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Geez! Thought I had commented on this….
Anyway, this is fabulous Nancy! Rhyolite and copper are a match made in heaven. Love it!
Any idea how many feet of 12g you used?
(I’ve gotta’ get that book from Irina!)

Marlene says:Beautiful bracelet and beautiful work. Just did my very first wire work (a class), and I think I’m going to love it. Thanks for the book recommendation – if it can show me how to be half as good as you, I’ll be thrilled.

Little Round Chick says:Thanks again Everyone. After a hard day at the farmers market this is great to come home to.
(Actually it wasn’t too hard just a bit slow.)
Mary, I think there is about 30 inches of wire in this bracelet. I really didn’t measure it. In the original project there was 36 inches of 16ga wire used but it had coils on both ends with many turns in them.
