I don’t really measure except to fold the wire around at the bottom and check to see that I have at least 3 inches extra on both sides…I’ve found the trick is to always to make sure you allow lots of wire to play with to form your bail and to make your ‘loop-de-loops’! Not very often do I have to cut wire off so there is not very much waste!
