An Earthy Design
About this design:
Sometimes, I have several different components and somehow I will start just seeing them in the same piece. The final click in this design was the African brass and then it came together. Because jewelry is an "extra" in most people's budget, I try to make my pieces as versatile as possible - such as the ribbon necklace being separate from the beaded and chain strands. This design is slightly out of my comfort zone because I am less likely to use these colors. I am so happy with how it turned out because it feels like each component has a place in the spotlight and yet the combo makes them unify.
Components:
This is really a LimaBeads piece: The pendant is the Gaea Ceramic Catalina Cerulean on Buff, the metals are the African brass and an etched brass chain, the ribbon is a hand-dyed silk sky blue/green blend. The metal pieces are the Vintaj natural brass magnolia petal bead caps, the antique African brass 3 rope tubes which are on the 2nd strand which is comprised of the brass tubes and Czech glass seed beads in mottled shades of wheat. The third strand is a variety of Miyuki glass seed beads in various finishes, shades, and shapes of browns and golds, accented by clear faceted aqua quartz ovals. The final strand is of handmade green African beads with shimmering brown mother of pearl triangles. The clasp is my handmade Vintaj brass hook clasp with one of the quartz beads included on the hook. I am sure that at least 50%, if not more, are all Lima Beads components.
