I was redoing it 3 times … First and second time did with 34 gm of the beads 2/10 but with the different cords and did not like it… Then added another 34 gm of seed beads 2/10 and it worked! So… there are 68 gm of beads. Now… I am thinking if to go and buy another 34 gm tube and make a bracelet for it or… just … earrings…
We have a Christmas sale this coming Sunday so I am short on time really…

franny says:Julia, these necklaces are gorgeous! my first foray into beading was to master bead tubing – its continuous & very meditative, plus i could wander around with a fat caterpillar of beads trailing behind me!.. i think maybe yours are crocheted but i only manage peyote stitch tubes, & i’m still trying to source 14mm bead/end caps to complete them as beautifully as you have.

AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:Thank You, Franny.:) Actually I use Kumihimo wheel. No crocheting for me.Crocheting is … scary!!!!!!!!! way too much work…LOL. I do beading for quite a while but kumihimo since Spring.
When I start the piece with beads I first weave an inch without beads them beads and then in the end another inch without. I tied the ends of the braids next to the beads with the strong thread very tied, then cut the braid 4 mm up from the tied place put a head pin through the braid near beads bending the headed end into the braid, drop a couple of drops of super glue on the threads and put it into the cap so the pin come through it. I then make an eye in the head pin and.. alla!
Ta-ta,
Julia

franny says:certainly Da-da!..wow, thank you so much Julia, for taking the time in explaining; had no idea what was hidden under those caps!…now i know why they look so beautifully & professionally finished…may have to engineer my own technique to tame my peyote caterpillars!LOL
