About this design:
Macrame bracelet. The large button was at Hancock Fabrics and I just love it. I'm thinking of re-doing this so its a little wider and with leather so its not quite so flimsy feeling. Right now it fastens under the button with a small sliding ring I improvised so I wouldn't have a huge loop. I'd probably move the closure to the back if I re-do it.
Components:
Shell button focal, 2 smaller shell button accents, grey seed beads and Irish Linen cord.Read the comments (or add your own)

Deb Harding says:Once again its sideways. Blast.

Asia says:Great design as for the side view just like Frida said we will rotate the laptops, OOPS I’m on the desk top
On Dec 08, 2012 at 8:44 am #
Deb Harding says:Thank you. Sorry about sideways photos. I have rotated them on my phone and still…sideways.
On Dec 08, 2012 at 1:35 pm #
Crazy Chick Frida says:Love this one, think the Irish linen is great
Asia hahhahaha
Once again I rotated my laptop
Think I have another solution for you Deb, If you take the photos so they look wrong then they might come out right on the computer? Or maybe I’m whimsical
On Dec 08, 2012 at 2:49 pm #
Deb Harding says:Well I just tried a way to hopefully fix the problem and it just rotated tbem the opposite way. Something about my phone sends pics that way. My Mom is always telling me she gets a crink in her neck from looking at pics I send her.

Deb Harding says:Oh and thank you. I like the irish linen also but this button is too heavy for it.

Deb Harding says:Please don’t be rotating your desktop Asia!!!

Peggy3 says:very nice.
what size irish linen did you use?
i tried the 2 and 4 ply and it was too flimsy

Deb Harding says:Dang if I can remember. I don’t have the package either. I also didn’t like the dull finish you get because of the wax. It makes your piece look dirty. But.it.could just be.the type I used.
On Dec 09, 2012 at 8:33 am #
Crazy Chick Frida says:Deb, I wash the beads before using them with waxed linen, they are often dirty and that gets stucked in the wax. However some of the wax will dissapear and then it looks better I think. One can also try to gently rub some off.

Deb Harding says:That’s aomething I hadn’t thought of. But I’m still wondering if its.the brand I used. I’m thinking it.was just a cheap.type but it was all the local beadstore had and the only place I could find it.at.the time. And they only had 3 colors. I don’t thinl I’m gonna have that problem here.

puppychick labratbecky says:Lovely, Deb! 1 mm leather might be stronger, but that will soften up, too. You could also try hemp. I love the design! In my first life I worked parttime at a Hancock fabrics store. I usually managed to leave my entire paycheck in the store.

Octobermom says:Nice bracelet, Deb. Can you post instructions on how to do it? Thanks
On Dec 09, 2012 at 7:52 pm #
Deb Harding says:LOL I know exactly what you mean Becky. I could spend a lot of money on the buttons alone. And the upholstery fabrics!!!!
As far as instructions…I didn’t really have any and I was winging it on the pattern. Had to take it slightly a part at least twice. Its just a basic macrame square knot. I used 4 cords, 2 shorter ones on the inside 2 much longer on the outside. Id have to look at it and figure out the pattern before I could post it. But here’s the thing, because the button is so big I couldn’t use a loop closure. So.I’ve kind of Macgyvered it with the four tails going through a jump ring ( 2 each.way) and pull them to.tighten.

Deb Harding says:Once again I forgot to.say thank you. Where are my manners????
Thank you.:)
