About this design:
Long Magatama beads. Very textural, funky , awesome :))))Unfinished yet!!!
Thinking what to use: copper, gold or brass..
Most likely will go with antique gold. I just tried this beads and now I will reorder a bit more for the necklace.
I do think though that Toho beads are kind of pricy...
Components:
Toho seed beads round 6/0 Gold-Lined Rainbow LT Jonquil and Miyuki Long Magatama Garnet Lined TR LT Topaz.Read the comments (or add your own)

Deb Harding says:Another beautiful necklace. I had no idea you could make something like this with kumihimo (did I spell that right?). I have to learn how.

Deb Harding says:Oops sorry I.think you mean this is a bracelet.

AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:Thank you, Deb! If you to tell me 8 month ago that I would be addicted to kumihimo… Ha!
And now I am … What a sad story… LOL
I really enjoyed the possibilities , even though I love the real gems . But then… I am going to do it with gems too

Deb Harding says:Not a sad story to be addicted to.something that makes something so beautiful. Unless of course you forget to eat and pay bills in your obsession.

JC Hamm says:I love the texture the longer beads give this piece. I have to find someone to teach me this technique. This is something I could do while watching the t.v at night.(Husband away alot)

AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:I already thinking of some interesting design with them…
Well, I can knit while watching TV but I cannot do it with beads as one have to watch on how the beads go , to correct the position of the bead on time

Julie Shane says:Julia, I know you are going to tell me that it’s easier than it looks. Nope, doubt it. I am SO impressed. Everytime I see one of your pieces in the Design Gallery I gasp at it’s beauty and intricacy.
I absolutely love the contrast of the sizes with the same color. I wonder how it would look with the SuperDuo beads? I haven’t seen them used yet.
I think you need the antique gold or brass. I would like to see little leaves… beads or dangles even. This is so earthy and natural, the leaves would be a great accent.

Elis Mom says:I think the antique gold would be very nice for this piece. So pretty, Julia! My bead store has a Kumi class….I think I will have to take it!
On Dec 08, 2012 at 6:11 pm #
Elis Mom says:I agree with Julie!
As an aside, does anyone have an idea how to use those super duo beads?
On Dec 09, 2012 at 1:10 am #
AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:Thank you Julie
I have an antique gold end cones and a chain and a hook but I ñeed to buy gold plated head pins and jump rings
I will give a thought to your suggestion about the leaves: it sounds darling
Thank you Susan
I see only one solution to the super duo: to buy some and try them in design

KatsAllThat says:This is lovely…I started doing Kumihimo with beads a couple of months ago. Took me 3 tries to finally get a perfect spiral bracelet done. I’ll have to take photos soon. Yours is lovely and I really want to try those magatama beads.
