Freshwater Nugget Bracelet

About this design:

A bracelet I made for myself this summer. I guess they are freshwater nuggets, they come in a box of shells and wood beads. My friend Kathy says they look like teeth (why I put them on her necklace). Basic 3 strand braid with a loop and button closure. Double wrap.

Components:

Waxed Irish linen. Freshwater nuggets. Carved wooden button. Small silver/topaz charm.

I wouldn’t have thought about the “teeth”… They just look like nugget pearls.

PLEASE explain the 3 strand braid. Or point me to a tutorial. I’ve seen you use it before and I’m still intrigued. I have hemp cord and Irish waxed linen and would like to try this. :) THX

3 strand braid is just like braiding your hair. 3 cords/strings/threads, cross outside strand over middle on one side. Repeat on other side. I usually put a bead on either 1 or both of the outside strands. You can put the bead in the middle. I use this method because it gives the closest approximation of bead crochet look, which I still havent gotten correctly. It makes great wrap bracelets you can bead it up as much as you like, use more than one color cord, make it as long as you want.

I bet the superduos would be great using this!!!! Oh my now I need aome
