Turqouise Dominant

About this design:

Love turqouise color and just experimenting with different variation of gold to copper. Actually the color of deep copper in the end is very similar to the color of the ending cones but did not show that way :( I will make earring to go with this necklace later...

Components:

Bohemian glass seed beads 6/0. Wax cotton and solid copper and copper plated findings.

Nice color combo. Is that kumihino (sp)?
Did you take a class or self taught?

Beautiful as always Julia. These beads look bigger than previous…are they?
Hope you had a good holiday.

It is kumihimo. A friend showed to me how to, then I looked at the video and now I am doing it for about 8 month… Instead of painting or doing other jewelry as I am accustomed to… Very addictive…

Thank You Debby! No it is 6/0. Just they are mostly matte metallic and come out different of photo.

I usually use clear with gold, or silver or copper lining : they sparkle more but look smaller on the photo.

So pretty…I am a novice at beaded kumihimo and haven’t tried changing up the colors in the center. Nicely done!

Thank you, Asia and Kats :) It is too late for this one But I am thinking if I should end it with the gold plated cones and rest of the findings… Oh well…
Kats , if you want to change the center use 5 to 10 the same color seed beads in the middle of each thread :) (so all 8 threads have the same middle …)

Very pretty! It looks time consuming, does it take very long?

    AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:

Thank you, TPaul :) It depends. The time consuming is thinking about the design and stringing the beads ;) But then any skill and it’s implementation is, so to speak, time consuming :) )))

Being it cooking , gardening, painting, pottery making , jewelry making… learning, implementing, enjoying…

    OK. Kumihimo scares me!
I’ve learned that just about anything remotely similar to sewing or using lots of thread doesn’t like me! :-| The Ladder stitch is all I’m willing to tackle…..
So I will look at and enjoy all the pretties that you continue to create Julia. Your choices of colors continues to keep me in awe! They are all incredibly beautiful! I particularly love your choices of matte metallic in this one! :-D

  13. AllureofGemsGlamJulia
    AllureofGemsGlamJulia says:

    Mary, thank you, darling!
You do not need to sew anything with the kumihimo .

With peyote : yes, but I do not do peyote :) Even though I am quite good with the sewing ;)

Thanks for the tip on the center beads. I will give it a try. My concern is not getting them centered right but practice makes perfect! :-)
