About this design:
This is one of my very favorite types of bracelets to make. They are simple and look elegant if you don't look at the tape it is on(I was trying to get the crystals showing.
Components:
This was made with purple metallic leather cord, tanzanite swarovski crystals, waxed linen(Purple I believe), and button of your choice.Step-by-Step Instructions:
|
Step 1: So you take the leather cord and double it over and measure it around your wrist but leave enough for knots. Knot the end which is folded over but make sure your button can fit through it and then knot it. Lay your strand of crystals over the doubled cord and take your waxed linen and wrap around the beginning of the leather a few times to start and then just start wrapping the waxed linen between each crystal(be sure not to do too tight but not too loose) When you get to the end wrap the extra waxed linen a few times around the leather cord and glue. With the ends of your leather cord tie it through your button hole and knot it. I always use cement adhesive on all knots Just to be sure. Enjoy! I used a plastic button, however I thought it was metal when I bought it. Kind of too goldie but. I wear it. I have made these for a friend and she has bought some for herself and some for her daughters. Ornamentea has different crystals to choose from and leather cord and waxed linen. It is fun to make you own color choice. Lisa LaBarre-Kurz |

Deb Harding says:Adorable…I’ve seen this.same technique with rhinestone chain, ball.chain, or a string of beads.

Lisa LaBarre-Kurz says:Yes I did the ball chain first and ended up not really liking it, too plain, and the pearl ones kept getting caught on my clothes, the swarovski crystals work the best. I just made one last night and will post it later. thank you all for you comments. Fondly, Lisa

queenie50cat says:Thanks for your instructions. I too got the design from Ornamentea.com and so far have made a triple wrap one with natural leather, copper ball chain and black Tuff Cord-it’s quite striking. Next time I’ll use cording the same color as the leather for a more cohesive look. I’d like to make the Swarovski Crystal chain one as well and have supplies on order.

Lisa LaBarre-Kurz says:I find Ornamentea runs out of Products very fast so you have to plan accordingly.
