About this design:
I decided to combine kumihimo necklace with the real stones continuation. In my case :Sunstones. As you can see I did only one side as I ran out of the gold filled crimp beads and covers :( Need to go to the store tomorrow . the cones are gold plated and findings gold filled.
What do you think about this necklace idea??? Crazy? There is going to be a very nice gold plated S hook...
Another matter, bracelet: which is unfinished for right now... I did not have enough magatama beads for the middle parts so I made it kingd of like a short spiral in the middle. Do you think they would go as a set? I meant necklace and bracelet?
Components:
Toho 6/0 beads with gold lining and Mayoki magatama beads Sparkling Topaz. Sunstones tumble netts . Gold plated cones , gold filled findings and gold french wire.Read the comments (or add your own)

Crazy Chick Frida says:Think the necklace is beautiful. The sunstone has a great color to go with the seedbead work. Cool! And yes, necklace and bracelet would work as a set

Julie Shane says:Beautiful Julia!!!
I do like the sunstones with kumihimo. A little more texture. A bright gold toggle in back will finsih it off nicely. I think the bracelet with the same toggle would be perfect. What about earrings with the sunstones and a touch of gold. Fabulous set!!!
PLAESE show us the completed set!

Of cause Julie I will show after finishing
The bracelet definitely will have the same hook or toggle.

Little Round Chick says:Interesting combination of beads with the sun stones and seed beads. They definitely make a set. Beautifully crafted pieces just like all of the others.
You have inspired me to try kumihimo with beads. How many thousands of seed beads does one need?

Schouk says:Can you give some instructions on how you did the seed beads? How many strands are there? I love it!

Deb Harding says:I love the idea of combining your beautiful kumihimo.with stones. I think it will make a stunning necklace. My only suggestion woild be at the connection point. I think the addition of a somewhat large gold bead would look good there. Not a huge one something about the same.diameter as the sunstome section. Maybe a gold disk shape. It will give the necklace a dividing point between the two but also make.the connection point less obvious. Please don’t take this.as criticism because your kumihimo is always spectacular and your color combinations are.beautiful.
