Hammered again!

About this design:

These are my FAVORITE!!! This is Keep-It-Simple and a touch of sparkle.

Had to have a bracelet of course. Lots of Czech lavendar tea and a swirly dangle focal.

Components:

LB: Czech lavendar tea rondelles other: aluminum wire

Thanks ladies! Yesterday’s class was about tools and techniques and lots of practice. We used aluminum wire since it’s so forgiving… and cheap!
The round-ish pieces are simply lots of loops, but you have to remember which way to place the piece and which way to twist. The square pieces are even more fun. Lots of 90degree angles and flat nose pliers. I tend to “over-hammer” but I like the effect.

The instructor is Pam Preslar. She has an etsy with LOTS of gorgeous stuff and *TUTORIALS*. I’m super lucky that she’s local so I get hands-on personal help. I’ve signed up for more classes so I can learn the really detailed techniques.

Now you’ve got me excited about classes. I’ve always learned from books, but I’d like to see how to do techniques like these. Keep going–these are great pieces.

Beautiful work! I saw a street artist pounding aluminum in Key West last week! I bought a pair of his earrings and they are very light weight. Another plus of working with aluminum.
