Moon Over Miami
About this design:
I have been wanting to use the Vintaj patinas, blanks, and filigrees to add a few new items to my collection. So far it's been fun. I had a little trouble with this one, though. It didn't really turn out the way I envisioned. I wanted it to have a vintage feel, but I didn't want to buy anymore stuff, so I used what I had in my stash. What do you think? Redo?
Components:
Vintaj brass blank, filigree, patina. Vintage glass rounds, shell pearls, crystals, moon charm, brass chain and toggle. Most from LB.Additional Images:

I found lits of details in the pearls and glass on the necklace! Then I went to the focal. The patina is lovely: soft in some places and darker in others. I like how the 2 moons face in different directions.

Deb Harding says:No No No you cannot re-do this. Its beautiful. The patina on that embossed blank is just umbelievable pretty. I def need to get the glaze if you get this kind of result. I love the mix of crystal and pearl.
Sometimes things don’t turn out like you originally planned. My mom necklace was SUPPOSED to.have purple in it. NO PURPLE. My amazonite necklace was supposed to.have silver pearls…NOT THERE. Sometimes jewelry makes itself and sometimes what you have on hand is a better choice anyway.

Elis Mom says:Thanks, Deb! I used a pea sized drop of patina, and a nickle sized puddle of glaze for each color. Then I let them run together by tilting the blank in different directions.
I really like the glass rounds. The cut is diffrent, and they are clear, but have a very faint smoke to them. I was going to use them for something else. Wish I had more!
