Chicky Suz aka Susan Z says:Thanks so much! I traded with a gal in Alaska, I sent her stones from Cape Cod and she sent me these really cool stones from a big river near her in Wasilla! Love to barter!!

Deb Harding says:Cool!! What other things do you wire wrap besides beach glass and stones…and I mean as in natural materials? The reason I ask is I used to collect these broken shell pieces that looked like small chunks of pitted white marble. I made them into earrings, necklaces and pins. If I can find one.in my boxes of stuff still in the attic I will upload a photo here to.see.if you would be imterested in them.

Science Chick Runs Sibes says:Love your wire-wrapping. I too do wirewrapped natural stones that I find when out trailrunning or just hiking with my husky. I also pick up stones from our local rivers/streams. I’m attaching pix of stones from my immediate area (wire-wrapped for our annual city celebration’s art/craft show). The close-up shows a local stone adorned with Utah Variscite chips.

Science Chick Runs Sibes says:Susan,
I’d enjoy trading. I’ll look through my current stash and see what’s available–I’ve got both Northern and Southern UT stones. Let’s make contact.

Chicky Suz aka Susan Z says:Hey Gayle – I will send you a message now
Beadlady sorry do not have your first name! Thanks!! I took a class ay my LBS- technique for undrilled stones is called Caged Cabochon- I am sure you can find a tutorial on line!

Deb Harding says:Susan these shells don’t look like shells…that’s why I was always attracted to them. They have been tumbled to the point that they are kind of like white pitted rocks. I have to find them though…attic stuff…messy.

I can’t wait to see the Alaska stones. I lived in Alaska as a child and have such fond memories of snow and skiing and sleds!

Julie Shane says:My dad was Air force and stationed at Anchorage Air Firce Base. I was 3rd, 4th, 5th grade so I don’t have really detailed memories. I would love to go back and experience it as an adult! Dreaming of a cruise up the panhandle from US through Canada to Alaska! WOW!!!
On Jan 25, 2013 at 8:38 pm #
Julie Shane says:Just did a quick Google. Wasilla is in/near Anchorage area. Wow! My memories of the area are not detailed enough to know…
