For Anita
About this design:
Anita is the mom of 2 boys, one in heaven and one on earth. We have a mutual friend who asked me to make Anita a piece of jewelry, but not until I found the right stone and design. I apent a year and a half wondering what to do. Finally, one day I saw these rutilated quartz that I had pulled out for another project and I knew it had to be these stones. Weird, but our friend had told me that Anita feels specific stones are for specific people. Guess so. :)
Components:
Rutilated Quartz, antique gold/brass: rolo chain, leaf chain, filigree lilies,spacers,and findings.Additional Images:

Anita’older son died on a wrestling mat. he was a ninth grader. He was wrestling an opponent and he suddenly went limp. There was a doctor in the stands who ran down to do CPR. They had a defribrillator and everything but he never came back. Autopsy was negative for everything. The wrestling team was traumatized. Hubby is the school counselor. They closed down the school for the funeral. The way the family handled it was wonderful. What a testament to their faith. Now you know why I wanted to make this really special for Anita.

Anita stood up at the funeral and thanked all the kids who were there for being so good to her son in the short time they knew him. She and her family didn’t get angry or lash out or blame anyone. The boy he was wrestling had to go to counseling for a year and Anita made a point of talking to him to be sure he knew it wasn’t his fault. The family was just so happy to have had their son for the 14 years he was here. It was an amazing learning experience for all the high school kids to see all of this. This family is special.
