Pearlescence

About this design:

I found these thin pieces of shell with holes on either side and had myself a challenge. It took me awhile and I'm not sure if I like the finished product or not, but it is going with me to another craft show in March. This one is in a bar/restaurant/club so if I don't sell anything, I can console myself with a drink right on the premises. :)

Components:

Freshwater shells, pearls, silver seed beads, purple magatama beads LB, GG snail LB, antique silver chain LB, silver plated findings, and some 6/0 peacock seed beads that look exactly like the shell colors. :)

Another great design, Becky, and I love how you’ve used that snail guy. I have him as well, but haven’t figured out how to use him. I really love the shells, and the chain and the colors…but….the picture of that beach is KILLIN’ me. Oh, if ONLY……!!! :)

Beautiful necklace, Becky! Leave it as is! Love the beach pic, too! Is that Bahia Honda? It’s supposed to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world…I’ve never been, but would like to!

Love the cute snail! I like that the inner and outer strands are “solid” and the center stand is light and open with the chain.

SO SO SO sorry ladies. That’s the type of view I get nearly every day. But we usually have sea oats instead of trees.

Susie, I’m not sure what the name of the beach is but it is in the state park next to the naval base. Key West has terrific beaches especially around the Atlantic side and the south corner.

Oh! You bought the snail. I think he’s adorable. The shell pieces sort of remind me of manta rays or skates, so the whole piece feels right for water and beach. (‘Course, that Florida picture set the scene. I’d love a little sun just now.)

You’re right Becky. Key West is a haven for artists. I love walking into all the shops to just look at all the pretties. It’s like a museum in many different buildings.

January it is!!! Wouldn’t that be THE most fun!?!?!
