In the Garden

About this design:

These earring charms were made with annealed steel wire frames and illustrations from Through the Looking Glass...where Alice is in a garden talking to the Tiger Lilies. I chose these two little sweet faced roses to capture in the earrings.

Components:

Annealed steel wire, Renaissance Wax, paper, Diamond glaze, glass beads, crystal roundels, sterling ear wires

Did you twist up your own frames for this? Did you use the Making Transparent Resin Frame tip & technique? (http://www.limabeads.com/Make-.....-Frame-T55)
Either way, beautiful use of components for these, top to bottom. They look great!

Morning, Kate! I made my own frames with annealed steel wire…making the small hoops formed around a marker pen. Thanks for the compliments!

I’m impressed! The steel frames are extra cool because they’re hand made. Love the pictures and the touches of elegance from the crystal, too. Have you ever put resin over fabric? I’m wondering if it can be done.

Laud, I’ve seen this done with fabric, and with tissue paper also. The resin makes them translucent…

Haven’t tried fabric, Laud, but I’d look forward to seeing your experiments! There are some gorgeous stained glass effects you can get with the tissue paper too. I do add a layer of resin to the back side for strength and would suggest this practice with any paper or fabric used.

The pictures from “Through the Looking Glass” make these ear rings special and definitely one of a kind. The color of the crystal rondelles adds a great finishing touch. :D
