Silver Bali Pearls

About this design:

I love the Spring Muddy Mix Shell Pearls because you get so many colors. 3 strings have made my Mom's Christmas present, an aqua bracelet, the brown cashmere set for me, and now this grey pearl bracelet.
1st stretchy bracelet I've actually made.

Components:

Grey 12mm shell pearls. Silver bali style beads. Silver bali style bead caps. Clear crystal beads. Small grey pearls. Small silver beads.

Very nice Deb. I like the subdued grey pearls contrasted with the Bali silver. Subtle but striking.
Stretchy cord is easy, huh? NO nasty crimps! ;)

Once again, you’ve made something elegant and expensive-looking without breaking the bank. Clever, good work!

This is beautiful, Deb. Its colors will go with everything. I may have to dig out my elastic cord and do some stretch bracelets again!

Thank you everyone. Yes Julie stretchy is pretty easy…better than crimping for sure. I still prefer bracelets with chain though…you use less beads.

Medieval Momma I made the pig tail by tying knots (big enough to keeo beads on) on one end of silk string, threading on 3 beads and then 3 more in reverse order. I tied more knots about 2 or 3 inches from the 1st one. Slide one group of 3 beads to the 2nd knot leaving a space between the 2 groups. Now take this beaded string and place it between 2 beads and start wrapping.it.around the elastic string and twisting it so that you wrap in the opposite direction until it is tight. I’m.sure there is an easier way and I just MacGyvered that for this bracelet.

Thanks for the info Deb! I’ll have to try that sometime, I make a fair amount of stretchy bracelets, and it’s so cute. Hope that’s allright.

What a pretty design. I love your use of the bead caps. The larger shell pearls really make a statement in a very lovely way.

Deb: True. But sometimes –ok… usually– I like big beads and chunky styles instead of chain.

MM and Deb: I take a 4-5 inch piece of Irish waxed linen and fold it in half and then make a knot around the stretchy cord between two of the beads. Then I thread little beads on one end of the cord and then the other. I tie knots on the ends of each and trim. You can also tie the Irish waxed linen to a jump ring, add your beads and tie knots on the ends, and then attach the jump ring to the stretch cord. It allows the beads to hang a little lower and maore dangly free.

Thanks again everyone. Thank you Julie for directions on the dangle…I knew there was a better way to do it…..just had a brain block that day for some reason.
LOL to Eeka Mouse…now I have to check those towels out.
LMBO to Becky remind me to not wear this bracelet if we ever actually meet!
