About this design:
More of my weekend of making pendants/focals. The coral is about 1.5 inches long. I used 18g artistic wire because its big and needed that support! LB coral tear drop at the bottom, and Czech beads.
The long spiral is just me playing with my new stepped mandrel, and I wired some gold faceted glass beads inside. Kinda playful.
The heart is a piece of MOP shell with simple wire swirls.

Beadlady3 aka Cindy says:Thanks JC! You should have seen my first couple of pendants this weekend. Awful! Good thing I practiced with cheap craft wire first.

puppychick labratbecky says:How hard is it really to bend 18g artistic wire into so many swirls? My hands hurt every morning after I play with wire the way it is and I haven’t done much with the 18 just because anything beyond big easy shapes hurts my left thumb at its base.
You really make this look easy. (and gorgeous!!) Can you give me any tips to save my hands?

Beadlady3 aka Cindy says:@Becky – The 18g artistic wire is fairly easy to work with, although it does harden a bit as you work with it. I find it helps if I use my round nose pliers to start, and plastic-coated flat pliers to make the swirls. Simple loops I make with my fingers, and so far (knock on wood!) no stiffness with my thumb. Thank you for the kind compliments!

Deb Harding says:You seem to be having fun with the wire. I like the spiral where you are just playing with the mandrel. Interesting.
