Floral Leather

About this design:

Went to buy crimp covers yesterday and saw this pretty faux leather flower. Its for scrapbooking I guess but I decided to use it on the wood necklaces I'm making. The flowers come 2 on a card. I also bought some soapstone amber 1/2 price to go with it.

I made this 4 times before I liked it. Tried a double strand with knots and few beads...no good.
Tried a double strand with less knots, more beads...wouldn't hang right. Tried a single strand with knots...still no. Almost said no altogether.

Components:

Faux Leather Flower. Carved Soapstone Amber. Carved Wood Rondelles. Waxed Wood Beads. Assorted Wood Beads. Suede Cord.

Deb, you sure know how to ‘make pretty’ with wood.
The leather flower softens up the wood.

Love your flower and leaf dangles (and the other little bead guy as well). Looks great with your leather flower. Nice, earthy design!

I love wood beads, but it’s hard to pair them with other elements. That leather flower is perfect!

I think you did a fabulous job this last go-round! :) I can so relate to the frustrations! You always manage to add the perfect little details, too, with the danglies by the flower!! and no big power tools were necessary! :)

Thank you Laud, Maria, Valley Girl and.Becky.
I need to correct a misconception. I did NOT make the dangles by the flower. They are part of it. Wish I could say I made them…lol.

Hey girl, I’ve been snooping around in the scrapbooking area too. :) I found some metal “tags” but haven’t figured out what to do with them. But they were on sale! And my MacGyver buddy has proven that sale items are NECESSARY!!! ;)
This is such a pretty piece. The flower takes the wood beads all the way to elegant.

LOL…there are all kinds of thing in scrapbooking that look interesting.

I used to, when I worked, buy things as a “just in case” if they were on sale cheap.

    Thank you.
