About this design:
I made this necklace about 5-6 years ago maybe. Well not the one you see here. Decided to restring it Saturday because it was on very wrinkled looking stiff plastic line. Decided to also change the clasp from lobster to toggle. Then while I was at it changed it to assymetrical, added leaf and jasper dangles at clasp, copper beads mixed with the jasper ones, jasper dangles on bottom and tip of pendant. So really a totally different necklace. Its very hard to photograph because the pendant is so tiny.
Sad news. The sick baby passed away yesterday. I was holding it to.comfort it so it was fairly quiet. So ButterBall is the only baby that survived. Included is a photo of Mousey kissing ButterBall. He loves him.
Components:
Small Bird Scene Pendant in Copper Frame. Jasper Rounds (don't remember exact name). Copper Beads. Copper Chain. Small Copper Leaves. Copper Toggle Bar.Read the comments (or add your own)

Bettys Beads says:I really like the necklace. Photographing it on a plain, light background might be easier to see.

Deb Harding says:No tried that. Didn’t work at all. I’ve tried everything to get it to come out good. Its.because its so teeny tiny my phone cannot capture and that’s all I can use at present.

Deb Harding says:Forgot to say with a plain light bsckground I kept.getting a glare. Even without a flash.

Crazy Beader says:Great necklace – - sad about your baby kitty, but your photo of Mousey and Butterball is super !

Deb Harding says:I think Mousey thinks he is the baby daddy!

Lois D says:Says Mousey to BB, “Hey! You’re a mini- ME!”
Deb, that is such a precious picture of them both.
So sad about the tiny one. Another kitty angel to remember…
I really love the focal on your necklace, the colors, the birds, everything looks good with all the other components you’ve used. There seems to be a nice balance in your assymetrical design. I could only hope to make something so neat!

Deb Harding says:Thank you Lois. I remember when I bought that little pendant on clearance. As a matter of fact I think I got it, the hummingbird one for my Mom, the copper moon/sun one for me and one other all at the same time. Anyway I remember walking through the beads looking for something to match and just getting frustrated. Most beads were too big or wrong color teal. Then I found that string of tiny jasper rounds and knew that
was it. Then I make a crappy necklace! And put it away and disnt really do any jewelry making for ages. Until this summer and things I do now aee.such an improvement over this summer’s attempts. So I believe your talent truly becomes more apparent the more you do. I also believe the more you look at other designs, in fact absord every single influence you can, the better you will become.
I’m sure you are.much better at design than you let on Lois.
Yes it is sad about the baby. I just keep feeling like I should have done somethong different. I’m always going to.feel that way

JenniferLynn says:Your necklace is beautiful. I like the loose chain in under the focal like a fringe. I’m sorry about your little kitten. I’m sure you did all you could.

Julie Shane says:Hi deb, Love the pendant and the teenie leaves with the toggle. I think this is simply “fancy jasper.” Super easy to find and great variety within the colors.
I remember an earlier pic that you posted with Butterball in the foreground and and a very jealous and scowling Mousey. I’m so glad they’re going to be BBF.

puppychick labratbecky says:I am so sorry about the last poor kitty. I am sure you did absolutely everything you could for them all. Please do not beat yourself up. They had love and warmth for their short lives. I am so happy Mousey loves ButterBall. You were worried BB wouldn’t have a playmate but I think Mousey will step in to play and to teach. Great picture of them!
I know exactly what you mean about your phone camera. Hubby’s cheapo camera is the same way–no good resolution close up.
And last….You have really hit your stride with these fabulous designs! I really REALLY like the whole piece! All its little buts are perfectly selected and arranged! Bravo!

Asia says:Deb, really sorry about the little one, enjoy the ones you have, as for the design, this is gorgeous, every detail and the beads you have are complimenting the pendant

Crazy Chick Frida says:Deb, how sad I’m that you loose baby cat
How is the catmommy taking it? And please don’t beat yourself, I know how hard it’s, but don’t.
BB and Mousey are so cut together.
Love your design. The chain dangles on the beautiful focal are great! Is it fancy jasper?

NY Bella says:So sorry about the kitten. Your ButterBall and Mousey are so endearing!
Great job on the necklace!
On Mar 11, 2013 at 7:50 pm #
Deb Harding says:Thanks everyone for the compliments. I’m probaby going to have to restring it again because one crimp cover makes the short side twist. Bah!
Becky I like all the little “buts” better. LOL!
I was worried about how Mousey would really react to ButterBall. After all Mousey is spoiled rotten, my baby that I raised, and the boss of the house. Plus he looked.so mad that one day. But I brought BB.out to tje livingroom and sat him down and Mousey started washing his face. And Mousey is only 9 months old so not real far apart. The mommies seem to be okay but both are super protective of BB now and both are feeding him….all the time. His tummy is fat! The saddest thing is Binky was such a good mom.
Thank you again everyone for all your concern, sympathy, love, help and support.
Frida just saw your question. I think it is. Julie said it looked likenit and I think that is what the tag said all those years ago.

foxhill designs vt says:LOVE this necklace, Deb!
I’m so sorry about the kitten. Butterball and Mousy are super cute together. So glad they are friends. Sounds like Butterball is living up to his name.

Elis Mom says:Deb, this necklace is just beautiful! The jasper compliments the pendant so well! Great job!
I’m so sorry about the last baby, but BB and Mousey look like best buds already. Love them lots, and know you are the best Fur Mom.

Laud says:I like the pendant, the colors, and the whole arrangement. It looks organic, effortless–very hard to achieve.
Sorry for your loss, but as others said, it isn’t your fault. We aren’t in control of everything, though we wish we were.
