About this design:
It all started when krystonejewelry (http://www.krystonejewelry.com/) mentioned that she buys cabochons on ebay. I don't know why it never occurred to me to look on ebay, but I went and looked and bought a pound of malachite cabs (that is 39 pieces!) very cheap. Now I am going to make a lot of green stuff and emerald green is the color of the year.
The shape of the necklace was inspired by the Russian Kokoshnik headdress (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kokoshnik). All the seed beads are from limabeads.
Components:
Malachite, TOHO seed beads, brass findings and componentsRead the comments (or add your own)

Lois D says:Miannda, I love your artisty. This piece is absolutely stunning, as are all of your pieces. This necklace ‘reads’ like an intriguing novel – each detailed point of beadwork captures my eyes like words on a page, bringing me to the next chapter, and the next!
I adore the salamander and wonder what he has to ‘tell’ – your use of the malachite chips compliment the cabs (what a wonderful deal you got on ebay!)
The colors are so beautiful, the purples, the gold in the pearls, oh my goodness, this is just gorgeous!
