Twisted Aventurine

About this design:

This is the bracelet and earrings I'm going to submit to the Wheels for Dix etsy. Green is THE color this year!

Do we sell them as a set or individually???

Components:

16mm green aventurine beads. 20 gauge and 24 gauge non-tarnish silver craft wire.

I have some big chocolate pearls. I think I’ll wrap those next.

Lovely! I’m in love with that technique. Those are really pretty aventurine, my nuggets and rounds (had for years) are all light green.
As far as selling together or separate, I’ve seen it both ways. I think when a bracelet is very expensive the earrings are.offered separately. At least thats the way is seems to me.

I love the look but I don’t know if I could ever manage handling the wire. I have a terrible time just twisting up the ends of memory wire on a bracelet…. or is that a different type of wire? Did you take lessons or learn by trial and error.

Deb, Here’s my problem. I got the aventurine really cheap. (You’d be proud of me!!!) The only other component is the wire. It took me about 3 hours.

So I don’t have a lot money or time involved. How do I price these pieces???

Fabulous work Julie!…I think I would try to sell as a set.
Pricing…Well there is your 3 hours of time and the cost of supplies….What if you hadn’t got the supplies at such a great price? What if someone would like you to make another? If you had to purchase more supplies….could you match it at the same price? Hope I’m being helpful. :)

    The so-called formula is
    materials+labor+expenses+profit=wholesale×2=retail.
So 3 hours × whatever you think is fair wage and materials. I think on the wheels pick I said we should probably dismiss profit and we really don’t have expenses.

Julie, these are so beautiful and unique! It’s totally up to you if you want to sell as a set. I’ve lost a few sales because I didn’t have matching earrings! I think Terri is on track with pricing.
Thanks for your support on the Wheels project!

    Susie,
This is the same message I sent on the Wheels of Dix Fresh Pick.

I tried to send pics to swyatt72@google.com but I got an “undeliverable” message. HELP! What am I doing wrong?

These are just lovely, Julie. Think you should sell them as a set. Just wish you could get some brighter photos that showed the colors better – - -

swyatt72@gmail.com Julie, you need to pretend these stones were full price retail when you bought them. 16mm stones are $$$. Customers don’t know your supplier’s sales. This is a unique talent and should be well compensated. I think the bracelet should be at least $49 and earrings at least $20. Think about that if you were buying and maybe adjust up but not down.

Just gorgeous! I’ve made similar bracelets but have only done the plainer wrapping with the single wire going around. I LOVE how you alternate with the fancier links!
