About this design:
This is the necklace I am placing on the Etsy site in our Wheels for Dixie drive. It kind of goes back to the pick I did "Cowgirl Pearls Pink & Brown". This was my first try at wire wrapping small dangles onto a ring. I used these tiny/thin headpins that had a little ball on the end. Had to use 2 so I wound up with a little ball on the wrap and I think it looks cool. I'm thinking that I should price this between $35-$40 maybe? Tell me what you think.
Would have posted this yesterday but I could not get on LB after about 11AM. Plus there has just been lots of drama on my cul-de-sac the past 2 days. Police have been here twice. So much fun.
I got a new button clasp for the ceramic button necklace. Please look and tell me if it is okay.
Update on ButterBall. He gave me a horrible scare Friday night. I was checking on him and the moms. He looked okay, got up and immediately started crying like he was in pain. Also acted like he could hardly breath and he fell trying to walk. I actually thought he was dying for a minute. I picked him up and did the back pat thing you do for congestion. After a few minuted he was okay. I debated going to the emergency clinic. But I knew it would be $200 so I put him in the travel carrier next to my bed so I could watch him all night. Went to vet next day. Apparently he was struggling to breath and neither vet heard much movement in his lungs. An X-ray would have been $150 so I opted to just get more Clavamox and hope it was just lingering congestion from the kitty cold. He has only had 1 more spell and seems to be
breathing better everyday. It was very scary though.

Peggy3 says:Deb – this is your best yet! Going to my favs. Warm necklace with the pinks and browns. Gorgeous. Nice choice of focal. And the wire wrapping looks awesome.
I’m glad the baby kitty is OK!

Peggy3 says:What kind of chain is at the back of the necklace by the clasp?
I really like it

Mary S - Sweet Chick says:Wow! Both the necklace and the kitty saga!
So glad Butterball is doing better and hope it stays that way.
Your necklace design is fantastic and your wirework awesome! I agree with you, those little ball pins look great around the ring!
I love everything about this piece!

foxhill designs vt says:Beautiful design, Deb! Your wire wraps look great. The shades of pink and brown are perfect with the copper.
Hope BB continues to improve. He’s getting so big.

Deb Harding says:Peggy I got the chain at Michael’s. I don’t ever order chain because I like touching it to feel the weight and see the size of the links.
Thank you for the compliments…especially regarding the wire wrap. I had only done something.like that once before but I just wrapped extra wire around the bead.
Yes BB is getting to be a big boy…still fits.in my hand. But he’s feisty. Has a little bit of a temper and thinks he’s bad news. He has play dates with Mousey everyday, I really believe Mousey thinks he is the
baby daddy. He washes BB like a mom does

Eeka Mouse says:This necklace is fantastic. Def. worth at least $40, maybe even up to $45. Remember to come up w/a attention-tweaking name… like ‘Rusty Cowgirl’s Rose’….
I know it’s not a rose, exactly, but it would draw people in….
I had a necklace on display at many crafshows that wasn’t getting the attention it deserved, b/c the focal was subtle beauty that didn’t shout out “hey! Look at me!” Its descriptive tag got nudged over 1/2 of the focal… a woman picked it up to see what was underneath… saw how lovely the focal was…. and bought it. I now use this trick regularly so people actually look at the quiet ones.
Glad BB is doing ok. It wouldn’t hurt to give his back a thumping a couple times a day to help keep that congestion broken up.
I’m helping a friend bottlefeed a litter of tiny orphan kittens. They are only 5 days old today. We lost one yesterday
and found a nursing momcat with a small litter to foster the 2 weakest. The remaining 3 are looking good so far but our fingers are crossed. It’s dicey w/such tiny tiny kits…

Crazy Chick Frida says:Fabulous necklace, Deb
Love your take on wirewrapping! Least 45 $ say.
Glad BB is a little better, I hope he will keep on improving. Hope Eeka and her friends kitties will become strong too.

Asia says:Deb, I love it as for the price listen to the girls, soooo glad that BB is better, he will get stronger as he grows

Elis Mom says:Deb, this is so beautiful! I hope BB is OK. He’s beautiful, too!
May have a potiental loaner cart for Dix on the way. Have to see if it will fit. The cost is a fraction of a new one.

Laud says:Ditto what everyone’s said already, but I wanted to add that the dangles echo the shape of the focal, which ties the piece together so nicely. Love pink and copper. Hope your fur and human (police?) trials will end in all the bad stuff going away, leaving nothing but better days ahead.
On Mar 20, 2013 at 4:13 pm #
Deb Harding says:Thanks again everyone. Eeka I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the little kitties. It is so hard when they are small…everyday is touch and go.
Susie that is so cool about the cart. Hopefully that will work out.
Laud, the police come to my cul-de-sac on a regular basis. Almost always because of my neighbor. The woman is in denial that her son is an irresponsible crackhead. This Sunday police were called by another neighbor because he (the actual father of 3 of the kids in the house) chose to shirk his duty as baby sitter/adult supervisor for the day. His mother went to work and within 30 minutes his buddy picked him up. He returned briefly to.deliver food and immediately left again. The neighbor was concerned and.being in the health/childcare field has a legal responsibilty to.report this type of.incident. The grandmother, upon returning home and finding out what had happened, proceeded to.accuse the wrong neighbor, accuse us all of trying to.take her kids, accuse us all.of trying to.kick all the (her word) n**g**s out of the cul-de-sac, and said she was going to.go all.NY on.them and get.someone down here to.cut.them.into.pieces.
The police had already been here Thursday because her son.collapsed out.the.front door. Apparently an “anxiety attack from all the grease” where he works. I kid.you not…that’s what she said.
I HATE MY CUL-DE-SAC!!!
On Mar 20, 2013 at 7:26 pm #
Little Round Chick says:WOW! You live an exciting life and not of the good kind, either. Obviously the neighbor’s son is irresponsible because the MOM is always making excuses for him. (Does that sound like a retired school teacher?) It would appear that MOM needs a serious reality check.
Now about the necklace…. Love the design and the daisy is great but all of the Lipstick Ranch pieces are great. IMHO your price for it is right on
Sorry I mixed the cat names up on my earlier post. Having a sick kitten is distressing and the problems always seem to happen at night or on Sunday.
I haven’t been on the LB site much in the past week or two so I haven’t kept up with all that is going on…. the farmer’s market, the street fair… too many irons in the fire. Takes up most of my time.
On Mar 20, 2013 at 7:49 pm #
Deb Harding says:I had noticed you weren’t here Nancy. Don’t worry about the name mix-up. So many people on here have pets as avatars and talk about them.
The Mom definitely makes excuses for the son. She says he only went out to get food but we all know he was gone for 4 hours. He also doesn’t deal here but I saw him get in a car and ride down the street with this person and.come back in 10 minutes. I see him do that a lot.
Sounds like you’ve been busy.
On Mar 20, 2013 at 9:12 pm #
Elis Mom says:Ah, Deb! Your story brings back memories! The police were on our block regularly, due to our neighbors fighting or neglecting their kids. have had DCF in our living room many times wanting to know what was going on next door with the kids. SOOOOOOO glad they’re gone!
On Mar 20, 2013 at 9:24 pm #
Deb Harding says:It is so stressful though. I picked what I “thought” was a quiet cul-de-sac but the woman next to me makes it anything but.
