About this design:

Another of the extra long necklaces in party colors. I've made several necklaces in this style and sold them all. So it was time for a new one. Color wise it is like the confetti bracelets... It goes with everything!

Components:

bone, coral, wood, glass, crystal, shell. lava, horn, stones, resin, kitchen sink, fire polished glass and a lady bug

I just love these mixed bead necklaces…you have a knack for putting them together. I’m going to try one soon.

Thanks Betty. You really should give it a try. It isn’t terribly hard to do.
The most difficult thing for me is to keep the bead placement random. I want to line them up and make recognizable patterns. So far the best way I have found to do it is to constantly keep checking what I’ve done. I suppose I could put the beads in a closed box box with an opening just large enough to reach in and get a bead. That should be random enough don’t you think? :D

…and the kitchen sink… You forgot an element, Nancy. ;) Fabulous set of beads!! :)

Very pretty! These would be great as eye glass holders (the kind that go around your neck so you don’t lose them on top of your head).

I love this! I have had the same problem when trying to be “random”. I think you were very successful. :)

I love your random pick of beads. Where did you find such lovely beads??? How did you end the necklace, I don’t see a clasp in the pics.
How did you make out at the street fair??

Fabulous design (and I definitely agree that random is hard) ! And your photos are really nice, too – - – How long is this necklace ??

If I had only one necklace to take on a summer vacation, this would be it! Love the go-with-everything design.

Gotta add: so if you did pick up the beads without looking, would you leave a randomly picked up set of 3 in a row of the same basic color or design? :) That would BE random but not LOOK random. That’s the problem I always run into! :) It has to be planned random-ness. :) This is PERFECT!!! :)

Thanks everyone. It is a fun piece and if I wore necklaces I’d definitely wear this kind.

beadinggma, I’ve had some of the beads in this necklace for 6 or 7 years. They just got put away and forgotten. Periodically I go through the stash and see what’s there and I still miss some of the beads. It’s like an Easter Egg Hunt… an Easter Bead Hunt…? :D As for ending the necklace, this one does have a clasp but there have been times when I’ve connected the ends together and hid the connection in a bead with a large hole. Using a clasp is definitely the easier way to go. As for the street fair it was fairly successful. I sold the necklace made with discs and washers. Guess some of the more avant-garde customers were out shopping.
