As I said with my other lucite flower earrings, I love big jewelry, but when it comes to making earrings, heavy doesn't always agree with my ears. The flowers from Heather French of Vintage Meadow Artworks are great for this! Beautiful artistic statements without the weight. These earrings in particular are inspired by the perfect fall day - stunning foliage colors and sparkling sunny day.

Supplies you’ll need:

  • 4 - 2" headpins
  • 2 - Vintage Meadow Artworks large bellflowers
  • 20 - magatama seed beads in an neutral or rainbow neutral shade
  • 2 - 8mm crystal rondelles
  • 2 - leverback earwires

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1

Take a head pin and string on 2 magatamas, 1 8mm crystal rondelle, 3 magatamas. Repeat this on the second headpin for this earring.

Step 2

Stagger the headpins alongside each other and string up through the inside of the bellflower, pulling taut. Taking your shorter "tail", create a wire wrapped loop 3mm up from the top of the flower. Don't trim the excess, rather keep wrapping it around. This is going to be a "messy" wire wrapped loop so that the wire creates a sort of cone on top of the flower. Now take your longer "tail," and begin wrapping it around the other wrap job, sticking close to the top of the flower to get that cone effect.

Step 3

Repeat steps 1 & 2 to create the other earring. Then attach the flowers to your chosen earwire.
