Punched Earrings

About this design:

I've been trying to find time to play around with punching shapes from metal and tin. I bought some LillyPilly squares from LB and some colorful tins from the DollarStore. I started playing today. The "regular" punches will easily cut the 24ga LillyPilly metal sheets. However, they are not strong enough for the tin. I'll have to keep experimenting.

In the meantime, I *love* these earrings. I've got more LillyPilly in my cart so I can try a few more ideas!

The center of the flower is a piece of the *titanium druzy* from the Easter Egg Hunt. My mom was beading with me today. She bought some beads at the Arts&Craft store and was trying to mix them with black and then with clear. She resisted using my titanium druzy since I worked so hard to get it! Ha Ha! She was thrilled with the result when she finally added the druzy to her pieces. Aren't Moms GREAT?!?!?!

Components:

LillyPilly Enchantment Copper (the stripes), Verde Patina Copper (the awesome green), and Mottled Patina Copper (mine had lots of the dark mottling). Titanium druzy! Vintaj Parawire 18ga for earwires and 24ga for attaching the druzy. I think the BACK should be nice too.

Wow! I didn’t think the punches would work on 24G. I’ll have to try! These are very cute!

Could have sworn I had commented. They are very cute earrings. Are you talking about the punches LB sells?

Very cute earrings! I’m itching to try this. Would the paper punch that LB sells work?

Hi everyone. Thanks for the nice words. :)
Yes, I think the punches from LB would work on the thin metal sheets. I bought a couple punches from the scrapbooking dept. at the arts&crafts store.
I also bought a few of the pretty tin canisters, but they are too much for the simple punches. I’ll have to paly around with those to see what works. Probably I’ll end up cutting shapes with tin snips.
