Palomino sky

About this design:

As you know, I love horses! The colour of these pearls reminded me of the Palominos' beautiful blond coat. I have added Sunstone small nuggets, for their 'sun' appeal next to the pearls, and Aquamarine faceted briolettes for the colour in the beautiful Spring sky at the moment !

Components:

I used 9ct gold wire through the Sunstone beads,(because I like the smooth golden finish) gold filled chain, a golden coloured lobster clasp, golden Hammertone rings, round & oval and gold 'Tuff cord #2 to thread the pearls. (I wanted to use leather but the holes in the pearls were too small, so I compromised and used the gold cord instead !) I added a drop peach pearl and another aquamarine drop in the centre.

My immediate reaction: “OOOH! This is so pretty.” The colors are scrumptious, and the variation of texture draws the eye from one element to the next. The whole thing is impressive and wonderful.

What a fab combination of stones. Sunstone and Aqua brios..doesn’t get much better than that! I like that each strand has a life of it’s own,but they all blend beautifully.
    The center link is lovely!

I wire wrapped a brio and it cracked the stone.
Does that happen bc the wire is too tight?

Lovely piece. I like the way you used the hammered links. They add a nice texture to the bracelet. The blue stones are wrapped so well and love their soft color.

Hi Peggy~~~~it could be because there was a slight fracture in the stone, and you didn’t notice it. Do you have a magnifier?

Ok that makes sense. I don’t have a magnifier. I have been nervous to try again.

Hi Peggy, as Nancy mentioned, it could be a crack in the stone itself, usually wire wrapping is ok, although I have had a few briolettes that have broken, which was because the hole was drilled too close to the edge, so it does happen sometimes, but not often ~ don’t be afraid to try again !
