FrooFroo Bracelet

About this design:

These are the bracelets that Garry is learning. Wire wrap bangles with Swarovski crystals. He thinks the first is "froofroo" because of it's pastel colors(as in not enough black). The second one is NOT froofroo because it has ample black beads!

Components:

Silver wire, Swarovski crystals, matte onyx rounds.

Wow they are fantastic. Tell him I’m sorry but I love the froo froo one because of aqua & purple.

LOL Deb! I’ll tell him! He gets very frustrated with the pastels. It can be amusing…

I love those. What size are they? I would love one in pretty semi-precious gemstones like pink coral, for example. Or the dark blue agate would be very glamorous with just a touch of Swarovski. I just remembered, I have some strawberry agate that is luscious.

They are all beautiful, black does not have to dominate all things. Color is wonderful.

There are simple and versatile and lovely.

Wire wrapping is the HARDEST. I have been looking everywhere for a really good basic skills book, without much luck. They are all very project-oriented.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

Garry is my “longtime unmarried companion”. He’s been thru the wringer lately with health issues, and he needs something to stay occupied. He took a class at the local bead shop to get started on these. The instructor is Bobbie Maw. She’s been doing this stuff for 40 years!

She offers tutorials at her Etsy shop, which is listed below.

Fabulous! There must be some hammering involved… does that make him happy? :)

Thanks, Becky! No hammering with these, though. He seems happy enough at the moment. Need more wire to keep it that way.

Thanks for sharing these! I’m imagining so many wonderful color combinations! Or stacks of them on the wrist!
If Garry starts to feel a bit too ‘pretty in pink’ with the crystals, perhaps a gentle reminder that he won’t be wearing them! I’m positively there are loads of women that will be thrilled to take them off his workbench! Has he tried other shapes of beads yet? Czech has some very pretty flat tile shapes that might not be so sparkly.
