Tied to the Southwest

About this design:

I've been traveling for awhile now but I miss my Sonoran desert! As I travel back to Arizona the occasional rain in the desert has a specific smell that is unmatched! I had to make a few pieces to bring me back to those feelings.
This knotting technique was on my list of new things to try. I didn't quite know how to attach and tie off the ends of the C-Lon so I made it up as I went but I'm pleased with how it turned out. Then the leather knot was frustrating so I made that up too. I just hope I can remember how I did it cause it worked great! HA ha!

Components:

Turquoise howlite focal, aqua dyed rhodonite rondels, antiqued copper beads, from LB: TierraCast button and twist spacer, 1.5mm antiqued brown leather cord and C-Lon cord

I adore your bracelet, it’s beautiful. Your description of Arizona made me homesick for our ‘adopted’ home state in which we lived for many, many years. We plan to return when the time is right. I know exactly the that smell to which you refer. I miss everything about the desert. Thank you for sharing your beautiful creation and bringing back good memories.

Gorgeous! I love copper & turquoise together also. You say knotting technique…does that mean something besides the basic overhand good? Because it looks really good.

Sorry, I should have said, this type of design, because yes you are correct that it is just an overhand knot in between each bead. But don’t ask me what kind of knots I did on the end…multiple made up ones. ;)

Thank you all for your great comments and encouragement. This means I’ll have try more of these!
