Tiedye Butterfly Redo

About this design:

Well, this is the redo. Necklace with yellow beads vs. turquoise. I traded the berry colored lucite for tiedye swirl beads, and the yellow lucite for turquoise Czech glass. Pics of both versions are here to see. I really like the turquoise version. The toggle is still a bit of a problem, but easily remedied once I decide what to do with it!

Components:

Brass butterfly and flower blanks, patinas, Czech glass, tiedye swirl beads, brass toggle.

Oh yeah! The third pic is the contents of the beads in the mail shipment!

What is Beads in the Mail??? I get confused everytime you say that.
I like the yellow but maybe more turquoise…
Your patina work is always excellent.

Beads in the mail is a monthly bead club by Thed Beadin’ Path. They ship an assortment of beads at the beginning of the month for a small price. Warm/Frosty Springs were made w/beads in the mail.

I was thinking more turquoise, too! I also have some dyed swirly beads that are similar to the tiedye colors.

I like how the patina turned out…it was difficult working asll 4 pieces at once.

I had asked that question before & went back to.find to had already answered it. Duh on me!! LOL!
I used to be long to a gourmet food club like that. I guess its gone now…too bad it was really good. Thomas Garroway in England.

I had thought I only purchased 1 month, but apparently it’s a revolving thing. That’s fine. Gives me something to look forward to!

Redo if you like but, it is great just the way it is. I love the patinas and you do also. I think this metal paint is opening up a creative path in tons of beaders.

Very pretty! Send has the tie dye look :)

Is that alcohol ink you used ? I have to try .
Can antiques copper be colored w alcohol ink and patina?

    Sorry for all the questions

    Thanks!

Peggy, I use Vintaj patina solutions and glaze. You can color anything with it!

Love your patina work! I just had a thought: what if you made the yellow bead part detachable so you could swap out different color strands as your mood wanted? Turquoise today, yellow tomorrow…. you get the idea. :)

  11. Elis Mom
    Elis Mom says:

    Becky! How are you?

I totally get the idea…but I already redid. I like the new version so much better! I had other plans for those yellow beads anyway…

Had to add pics of the kids!

Love your patinas! The yellow beads are pretty, but I think a cooler color (mint, turquoise) would emphasize the patina pieces.

Thanks guys! I had a few days off last week, and I spent them cuddling with the kids. E is a mommy’s boy for sure! Dix will cuddle up with anyone! She visits EVERYONE in the waitng room at the vet’s office and usually leaves with half a dozen new friends!

Your patina work is so cool – you are very talented! I love the turquoise beads with the patinas the best but the yellow works well too. Thank you for sharing – this piece is gorgeous and inspiring.
