Golden Posies

About this design:

One of my friends commissioned a bracelet with very specific requirements. These were some of the leftovers from one of my attempts to please her. She has very clear opinions of what she wants, the problem was we couldn't find the exact beads for her look. I made a different bracelet her way that I do not really like but while playing with the debris on my table I came up with this. And I do like how these turned out.

Components:

Czech glass flowers (online supplier), leaves (LB), bronze crystals (LB), spacers (LBS) and findings from who knows where. :)

Yup, those are my feet. :) The last pic is the set of 6 centerpieces for my D-i-L’s baby shower on Sunday 6/9. I found a 6 pack of piggy banks half price while wandering through Michaels and I knew they would make perfect vases for the diaper tulips I was making out of colored foam sheets. :) I may have to start an Etsy store of foam art creations. :)

Well 1st I’m going to have to comment about those adorable diaper/pig arrangements!!! Could those be any cuter???
Now on to the bracelet. You must have remarkable patience. I would probably just say never mind after awhile. The bracelet you show is cute. Cant believe she wouldn’t be happy with that.

Thanks, guys! I actually think the one she wanted is ugly. I’m not even gonna post it and I tried to change her mind with lots of other choices. And, yes, I was getting a wee bit fed up. :) But now it’s done and I can move on to fun things.

Love that color combo in the bracelet, it’s shimmers nicely. Those piggy diapers are adorable!

I could not make something I didn’t like or have someone *tell me* what to make!! I could never do commision work.

Love the bracelet Becky, and also the pig vases and foam diaper-flowers! In addition to making jewelry, I am also a watercolor artist and I really dont do commissions anymore. It gets frustrating having someone tell you where to put that flower or tree, or to have them want you to do it all over again. I tell them if you dont see a painting you like, just wait a few months, there will be others to choose from! I feel they should have confidence in us as artists to know what looks good–whether it’s paintings or jewelry!! I don’t tolerate nit-pickers well! LOL

:) !! Most of my orders have been much more open ended, thankfully! Most people just ask for a necklace, maybe with a color suggestion, etc. I have only had this one nitpicker. :) If someone told me where to place a tree in a watercolor painting which you can’t paint over, I’d be mad, too!(I took watercolor classes)

Becky, I love this, can’t believe she did not, you must have a patience of an angel. The tulips are soooo cute everybody is going to love them!!! :D

Thanks, Asia! I know I have the wrong leaves for tulips but I had just figured out how to make these leaves and I wanted to make the flowers appear wider so I didn’t have to make so many. :)

Becky, My first reaction was: simple and cute… move on… Then I saw your name and thought WHAT??? I agree: not your style, but it is simple and sweet. She’s happy. End of it. Now you can crate something imaginative and funky and be happy!!! ;)

How stinkin’ cute are those piggies and diaper flowers!

And the bracelet did turned out great! Yeah for left overs!!! :)

Ditto! Piggies are awesome and I love the bracelet and earrings!

Becky, my first thought was that I like your little “piggies” — your toes & those adorable banks with the foam diapers!!! LOL ;)

I love the bracelet & earrings you created! Those Czech leaves are gorgeous! :D

I’ve created commissioned pieces before — so far, so good. The buyers have always given me some guidelines & I’ve shown them some possibilities before finishing the approved design. Sorry your experience wasn’t better. :(
