Blue Bohemian

About this design:

The latest craze at my local bead shop are these mixed bead necklaces. I've resisted creating one, as I want to nurture my own style. Then I saw a strand of beads at JoAnn's for 50% off. I couldn't help myself cuz I loved the blue/brown combo. So, I gave it a go. I think I'll make another!

Components:

Shell pearls, seed beads, copper bead caps, brass bead caps, rhinestone rondelles, pyrite rounds, brass gears, bone gears, bone discs, turquoise heishi, crystal rondelles, seed bead rounds, leather round, brass spacers, brass lobster clasp, ceramic round, some sort of other rounds. I think that's it! Is it too "busy"?

Such a pretty color combo for summer! I can see why you’d like another helping!

Hey Susie… that necklace is so cool. I don’t think its too busy.

I love all the different beads. Of course, it would be best on a simple top. Although I’ve seen some bizaar stuff in fashion magazines.

Love the design! This would look great with a plain white Tshirt and jeans. Did you DIY beaded wood beads, the two big ones at the top?

Susie, this is fantastic! What a great idea! Love blues/browns together & this combo of colors, shapes, & textures is wonderful! No, it’s not too busy — just don’t wear it with a patterned top or jacket. A patterned skirt or pants would work with a plain top/jacket. :D

I envy your ability to create such a beautiful asymmetrical design — they give me & my OCD fits! ;)

Wanda asked the same question I have re: the larger beaded beads. Inquiring minds want to know…. 8)

P.S. Hugs to you & tummy rubs for Eli & Dixie! :D

What a fab work of art. Not too busy at all. It’s a fun statement piece.Love the chunky look that’s so “in” right now. I’d even like to see it on vacation, with a bathing suit.

This is gorgeous, and one of my favorite color combinations! The design is fab and not “busy” at all….it has so many interesting pieces. Great design! I wish we had JoAnn’s here. I always stop at the one in Nashville when I am there. I do find a few things at Hancock Fabrics now and then, as they have a bead aisle.

Beautiful and bold! Wow, I love the turquoise/brown combo. Those big, colorful rounds remind me of “Tibetan beads” sold elsewhere. I bought one on sale once and they are beautiful, but, I wasn’t sure how to work it in a design. You’ve done it famously, I’d say!!!

Do not change this!! :) Fabulous asymmetric design, Susie!!! You do this so effortlessly (or at least it does look that way :) ) Fab, fab , fab beads and arrangement!!!!!

Echoing all of the above … this is FABULOUS! Don’t change anything. Love the color combo, the asymmetry, the “chunkiness”. Yes, it would be best with a solid colored top and a patterned skirt or pants, but then it would be spectacular! :D
