Well I think that I may need to look at this BigKick. This is absolutely gorgeous Susie! Love the colors you chose for it, what kind of metal coloring did you use? It all just flows together so nicely, what wonderful talent you have!

Thanks, Wanda! I use the Vintaj patinas with lots of patina glaze and extender. Then I tilt the blank back and forth to let the colors run together.

I don’t remember seeing this one before. The flying one I remembered more the write-up actually for some reason. Its a beautiful design. I definitely need to get the glaze for my patinas. They are much prettier with it.

    Thanks!

Deb, the glaze makes all the difference! I usually use a pea sized puddle of color to a nickel sized puddle of glaze. I also leave the paint brush slightly more than damp when applying…then tilt the blank to let the colors blend.

So glad to see this one again! I love the mix of open leaves and the green Czech glass.
I *must* remember to go to the next step and add the filigree pieces like you do. It completely finishes the pendant with detail and the unexpected touch.

Deb, I’m with Susie on the glaze/extender. It gives you the freedom to mix colors and to get softer shades of a color. I use a dab of color and drag in a little glaze until I have a wash of color. It makes the process more like water colors than oils. A few thin layers makes more impact than one shot of color. I know how you love the Vintaj website. Watch some of the videos that Jess has done… she’s THE pro at color mixing. :)

I have watched the videos. I just forgot to order glaze when I had that 20% off vintaj Easter coupon. I really haven’t bought anything since from here…rccept muse. I did accomplish a glaze effect with nail polish though.
