The Last of the Rhyolite

About this design:

I used up my stock of rhyolite making a necklace for my daughter in law and, as she is a gold person, I used warmer secondary colors and gold findings.

Components:

Rhyolite, Red Jasper, Red Aventurine, gold filled bead caps, clasp and other misc findings.

Ed, I think I like this one the best. The rhyolite is more obvious in your first piece, but I really like the soft golden colors in this one. The rhyolite really stands out.

This is lovely also, but I prefer the silver.

Am with Julie on this one, Ed – - this is my favorite of the three sets. They are all great, though, and it’s so good to see you back !

Ditto what Jule and Crazy Beader said. These stones really wrk well together. Very soft, and understated, but still commands my attention.

The warm tones are gorgeous! They remind me of honey and are fabulous with the rhyolite.
What are the beautiful white beads?

    Gail,
The “white” beads are yellow jade and are more yellow in person tha in the picture.

It is the same stone in Rhyolite & Silver. The yellow jade seems to have a lot of color variation. These stones were purchased from Lima Beads

In this design the Rhyolite is the secondary to the warm colors of the jade and the aventurine. The rhyolite contrast with the warm colors and thus stands out but does not dominate the design. Im sure all of you already knew all of this but it never hurts to re enforce a concept. This is a “warm” design whereas the Rhyolite & Silver is a “cool” design.

    Thanks for all your comments.
