About this design:

I'm crazy about Ali's design with the Trinket Foundry glass rings. I'm not as colorful as Ali, so I ordered the amethyst and white glass rings. I thought I'd add some pretty lavendar ribbon and some shiny seedbeads... No problem. Easy and fun necklace. NOPE...

I *hate* the combo I picked (see last photo) because it's BORING! So I decided to add some purple recycled glass... but the purples didn't match the awesome ring. I nearly gave up, but then went rumaging through my Czech glass. EUREKA!!!

I'm really happy with the result. The BEST part of the process is that my mom was here. Usually we both bead and talk... but we do our own thing. She wasn't feeling creative today so she just watched me. She had never watched me wire-wrap and she was facinated by how difficult it looks but how easy it actually is. No, she's not willing to try. It was so cool because we "shared" ideas for this piece. She suggested the Czech rondelle as the center of the flower. It was a PAINFUL task but I think her detail really "makes" the piece.

Components:

EVERYTHING from LimaBeads! Trinket Foundry amethyst/crystal ring, frosted mini flower ring, and ring connector (this textured silver is so pretty). Metalic iris purple megatama. Czech plumage quartz 6x9 rondelles. Recycled glass in crystal flat freeform and 4mm rounds. Textured circular cable chain (this is awesome chain!) and Artistic wire in 20 and 24 gauge.

It’s awesome Julie, and so is being able to share the same passion about beading with your mother. As for the wire wrapping of beads I’m with your mother. I can do it, but if it’s not perfect I keep redoing and redoing. I go through so many headpins it’s not even funny. So I tend to stick to the simple stringing and knotting stuff.

    Thanks everyone!
I have re-ordered the mini-flower ring and the matagamas. I’m going to re-create the flower as the focal of the bracelet and then make 3 stands: crystal recycled, the Czech rondelles and the magatamas. I’m searching my stash for a fun and funky toggle. The earrings will be like the center of the focal rings.
